I'm gonna wait for some Yankees to fall down some stairs before voting.

Replay of 2002 (reversing ALCS/ALDS order, of course), plz?

boring movies are the most boring (Eric H.), Monday, 12 October 2009 03:12 (fifteen years ago)

so far the division series have taught me to not vote for what i want, so yankees in 6

I pretty much root in reverse correlation to team salaries. Go Angels, fuck you US Steel

Angels in six

Andy K, Monday, 12 October 2009 06:52 (fifteen years ago)

after this div series i am confronted with that familiar feeling of having my enemies subtly transformed into heroes - where aybar and abreu once struck fear into my heart now they can do no wrong. it's sort of like when the bucks would beat the celtics in the 80s.

on the other hand it might be as simple as that old new england t-shirt that reads "i have two favorite teams: the red sox and whoever's playing the yankees"

Tracer Hand, Monday, 12 October 2009 11:07 (fifteen years ago)

i have to admit the angels are very, very entertaining. it starts with torii hunter but keeps on going with aybar and chone figgins. these guys get FIRED UP.

an LAD-LAA series would be so sweet, for so many reasons. can you guys imagine abreu and manny going head to head?? there's something so similar about their brand of laid-back danger. abreu gets to the plate and always looks like he's just thought of something wry and funny.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 12 October 2009 11:10 (fifteen years ago)

This series will be a classic. I have a good feeling about this.

I remember this series being really exciting at the time:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/postseason/2005_ALDS2.shtml

Kind of amusing that the Yanks pitching staff has turned over completely since then, with the exception of Rivera.
