Last year, yahoo!'s league registration opened up on 2/2.

Are there any other free leagues worth considering?

I'd be down. Last year was my first year playing so there's probably a good amount of stuff I dont know too well. Anyone care to post the rules or will the rules be the same as last year and Ill check out the old thread.

Go with two leagues. More players to go around, etc. - in a standard AL/NL league (without FUBAR Yahoo rosters) 14 is the optimum number.

yeah if theres a designated scrubs league Id be willing to head there. I've only done fantasy for one season. Somehow I won, but I dont think the rules we were using were very common. It was pretty simplistic.

or why not forget the whole notion of scrubs vs. "cool folks" and just divide up along 5x5 vs. SABR lines?

I'm game for putting the Clutch Hustlers through another season of futility of leading the league in RBI and watching my pitching wilt like a spring flower in the July heat (Derek TurnBLOW!!!).

I'd cut down the stats this year, but don't get rid of all of the traditional counting stats. I like being able to figure in my head where I could gain ground without having to pull out a spreadsheet. I think we had better balence a couple of years ago, but that is probably because I finished 3rd.

I'd also be up for trying a head to head league if the consensus is to go for two divisions.

i'm for more leagues since we have so many managers:

a "blend" league: SABR + 5x5
a rookie/n00b/scrubs league: 5x5
a SABR league: no 5x5 stats except for HRs

and a head to head league (which of the above would be of interest?)

Of all the options, I'd opt for a blend of 5x5 and Sabre stuff, (which I've never really understood but it obviously works)

One thing I'd really like to see is walks = 1 point.
