Now that the Angels have Alberto Callaspo, clearly the West is theirs for the taking.

Which team will hand over their prized players to the Yankees in exchange for a bag of balls and some autographed baseball cards of Reggie Jackson.

Considering the season Joba's having, the idea that the Yankees aren't willing to give him up for Dan Haren is fucking weird.

I think the D-backs 'win' that turn of events. WTF would you trade Haren for Joba? I might need one more b/c prospect if they threw in Montero too.

I think there would be more than just Joba involved in the hypothetical deal.

Ludwick, not Franklin. So it's Ludwick to the Padres, Westbrook to the Cardinals, and the Padres are also giving up two prospects: Cory Kluber to the Indians and Nicholas Greenwood to the Cardinals.

Hey, Theriot is an EXPERT at hitting singles, and only singles, every 4 at bats or so. He could play a key role in situations that require a 25% of a single.

I think Theriot was a guy the Cubs insisted be included, so really it's just for Lilly.

The Thome thing was done to get a lefty pinch hitter with power for the world series. Kenny Williams basically had an agreement with Thome that he would trade him to a contender if he could and he did. august waivers are revocable, so even if a player doesn't pass through, the waiving team can work out a trade with the claiming team instead of just shipping off the player
