They are missing their brains. Even if Garza isn't the second coming of Liriano, he's still a damn sight closer to a league average starter than Ponson is at this point. So why let him languish in AAA?

Is this a new Twins tradition? Start the season w/ NRI types holding MLB roster spots that should be taken by someone in their farm system, then cut bait on the veteran moxie 6 weeks in? What's the point? Save time on the kids' arb clocks? Give the kids more seasoning? Make the kids hungrier? Save on bus fare?

Gardenhire said something during Mauer's DL stint about wanting him to only catch so as not to reaggravate the injury as a DH. DH, of course, being the most strenuous position in the game.
