the team this year is like if you simulated the first season of a video game & then made some moves in the off season to ensure that your team was unbeatable

We should just admit that every AL East team is flawed now, so we have room to be surprised later.

i don't think they're unbeatable, the talking heads on nesn are already suggesting this could be the first modern sox team to win 100 and i'm thinking geez they're really setting up everyone for some major potential disappointment

i think last year's yankees looked about as good on paper at the beginning of the season. and they were good, but they didn't win the division or the WS.

i didn't make it to fenway last year either (but i did see the sox in baltimore which is a MUCH nicer park imo. would be totally jealous if the O's were any good anymore)

eh no one would blink if it was a 17 year old dominican kid; the fact that he's playing softball not baseball is more or less immaterial.

fast-pitch softball, it's worth noting, is extremely difficult for batters! so if he's holding his own than he has as much of a chance as anyone (i.e. not all that much) of being able to hit pro pitching in 4-5 years.

i think they would if it was a dominican kid who had never played baseball!

softball is really hard for batters but its also very different w/r/t angles, techniques etc

just because its hard doesnt mean excelling at it it makes you cut out for major league baseball imo
