i had an angels one and I colored in the brim red with model paint because they were red and not solid <navy? purple? whatever?>.
you could also buy them at games; surely they still do this?

They used to serve ice cream in those at the Beaumont Golden Gators (Padres AA) games when I was a kid. I remember having a Milwaukee Brewers one with the MB-glove logo.
I have an Astros one that I got at Minute Maid Park a few years ago that's quite a bit larger that those older ones. Like large enough to fit on a two-year-olds head and hold about three scoop of ice cream. They've since gone back to the smaller models. :-(

Didn't A&W do this, too? I had/have a bunch of them. The tops of the helmets were just flat enough to sit on a table without tipping over.
I also had/have a set of very small helmets which could be placed in slots on a cardboard baseball field. You could arrange the helmets to reflect the standings.

Sitting on my desk ... Padres, Phillies, Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox.
All purchased at games. Maybe I'll try to get a Reds one tomorrow!

I collected every team when I was a kid. Took me about 2 1/2 years. That and beating Kid Icarus were the two greatest accomplishments of my childhood.

beating Kid Icarus
I don't believe anybody has ever actually done this.
And you could still get frozen yogurt in a tiny Braves helmet at Atlanta games as recently as, oh, 1996. Don't see why that would've changed in the past decade plus.

When I beat Kid Icarus my father laughed at me and threw out my mini baseball helmet collection.
