A rematch of last year's ALDS.

polyphonic, Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:11 (fourteen years ago)

rays in 4

ciderpress, Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

TEX in 5, but it's a wilder guess than usual

Antonio Carlos Broheem (WmC), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:20 (fourteen years ago)

i think texas is really fucking good

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:21 (fourteen years ago)

can see it going 5, obv will root Rays (and that one of the Bushes has a fatal accident)

incredibly middlebrow (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:54 (fourteen years ago)

rays in five

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 29 September 2011 20:19 (fourteen years ago)

Regular season results: Texas 5, Rays 4

citation needed (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 29 September 2011 20:53 (fourteen years ago)

Rangers in four. Like both teams -- not pulling for either one.

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Thursday, 29 September 2011 22:14 (fourteen years ago)

Rays in 4

Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Thursday, 29 September 2011 23:30 (fourteen years ago)

Tough call. The Rangers don't have a player like Cliff Lee anymore who can practically win a best of five series by himself, but overall their pitching is better than it was last year. Rays in five, but it's a coin flip.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Friday, 30 September 2011 03:40 (fourteen years ago)

Rays in 4

polyphonic, Friday, 30 September 2011 05:33 (fourteen years ago)

Matt Moore is starting tonight.

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Friday, 30 September 2011 11:38 (fourteen years ago)

<3 the rays

johnny crunch, Friday, 30 September 2011 11:51 (fourteen years ago)

is rocco baldelli around 2 dh like last yr?

johnny crunch, Friday, 30 September 2011 11:52 (fourteen years ago)

Rays in 5.

Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Friday, 30 September 2011 12:49 (fourteen years ago)

so excited about this matt moore start

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 14:06 (fourteen years ago)

so i guess joe maddon took like 5 massive bong rips before filling his line up out

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 19:05 (fourteen years ago)

Rays in four and hope they win the whole thing.

Bee OK, Friday, 30 September 2011 19:43 (fourteen years ago)

Rodriguez leading off with Jennings and Joyce eighth and ninth is uh...

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Friday, 30 September 2011 20:15 (fourteen years ago)

so on mlb.tv is there a way to get like, the tv feed? being able to choose a camera angle is neat, but then when the ball is hit the camera won't follow it

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:16 (fourteen years ago)

that would be very bizarre if not

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:23 (fourteen years ago)

apparently you can only choose the camera angles 'because the game is blacked out in the us and canada'

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:29 (fourteen years ago)

huh

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:29 (fourteen years ago)

blam

johnny crunch, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:30 (fourteen years ago)

so you pay $6 to see multiple camera angels of the game? but not an actual fluid broadcast?

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:33 (fourteen years ago)

yes, although the high home plate angle does follow hits at least. and you get buck martinez audio, but no replays.

if i were paying for it i would be pissed -- and i think a lot of people are

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:38 (fourteen years ago)

well it's pretty misleading

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:38 (fourteen years ago)

very

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:39 (fourteen years ago)

what i don't get is what is the incentive here to tbs & mlb? they could split the profits of an mlb.tv deal (both from subscription & ads) that would allow users to watch the tbs broadcast -- is it really more beneficial for mlb/tbs to... try and entice ppl into buying cable? just to watch tbs? would they really do better in that deal than just having ppl pay them directly?

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:40 (fourteen years ago)

baseball broadcasting rights are so stupid and frustrating

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:40 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i don't get it either. but mlb's media policy in general makes very little sense

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:41 (fourteen years ago)

the stupid thing is that mlb.tv is very progressive, and has been since its inception -- but when it gets to nationally televised games they're almost beyond draconian

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:42 (fourteen years ago)

but not an actual fluid broadcast?

What do you want for $6? And what do you think TBS (or more properly, their sponsors) is paying for?

incredibly middlebrow (Dr Morbius), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:46 (fourteen years ago)

i would pay double that for the fluid broadcast (which is what int'l users are paying)

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:48 (fourteen years ago)

RIP Rangers

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:49 (fourteen years ago)

according to mlb gameday's summary of c.j. wilson, his "out pitch" is "n/a"

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 30 September 2011 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

buck martinez just said tx has better starting pitching this yr than last

johnny crunch, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:59 (fourteen years ago)

wow

johnny crunch, Friday, 30 September 2011 22:00 (fourteen years ago)

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 22:01 (fourteen years ago)

mookieproof, Friday, 30 September 2011 22:02 (fourteen years ago)

dschoenfield David Schoenfield
Shoppach had four RBs in September ... all on solo home runs. Had one RBI in August, on a solo home run.

he of the 9.82 career ERA and 6 walks in 3.2 innings in tropicana

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 00:23 (fourteen years ago)

you get the feeling pitchers would lose the plate more often if hitters were this patient in the regular season?

Ron Washington can't use Feliz in the 8th. Such a dumdum.

incredibly middlebrow (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 00:24 (fourteen years ago)

great call on the pitchout, but c'mon everyone knew that was coming
dunno how they would have pitched if he hadn't gotten picked off but this had to have been a huge WPA swing

frogbs, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 00:24 (fourteen years ago)

heavens, Feliz?

incredibly middlebrow (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 00:26 (fourteen years ago)

mookieproof, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 18:44 (fourteen years ago)

Harrison on pace for 20 Ks!

(and 180 pitches)

frogbs, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 19:28 (fourteen years ago)

i guess moore won't be starting a fifth game

maybe he should have started the fourth

mookieproof, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 19:32 (fourteen years ago)

That's only Harrison's 2nd walk, are all the pitches coming from deep counts?

incredibly middlebrow (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 19:39 (fourteen years ago)

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

I keep thinking that the Rangers' starting pitching is going to hold them back but they keep winning games. Those starters are better than I think they are.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 21:55 (fourteen years ago)

It's almost unfair that the Rays made arguably the most spectacular comeback ever less than a week ago, and now they're done. That's sports, I guess.
