but WHERE, Shasta?

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 23 August 2007 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

i would imagine it's in thread purgatory where the other unsearchable (aka database corruption/gone forever) threads are.

Mets slam the first-place Cubs, 10-0, moving to 6 games behind on a shutout by Gooden (in one of the first meaningful September games at Shea in about 8 years).

In the '85 Cards-Mets dogfight, Gooden and John Tudor match zeroes for 9 innings til Cesar Cedeno homers in the 10th off Jesse Orosco -- St. Louis ties NY for first place. Keith Hernandez fielded a bunt on the THIRD-BASE side of the mound in the 8th to get a force at third, likely the best play I've ever seen a 1B make.

2 Sep '05, Cardinals at Astros

Astros down 3-2 going to bottom of the 9th. Ensberg homers of Isringhausen to lead off 9th. Cardinals score in 10th. Brad Freakin' Ausmus homers to tie it in the bottom of the inning. Cardinals score a run in the top of the 13th. Julian Tavarez comes in to start the bottom. Astros tie it on a BASES-LOADED HIT-BY-PITCH, then win it on a two-out single by Eric Bruntlett.

Best regular season game I've ever seen.

Can't find any footage of the bottles and cans being flung at Pete in LF, let alone including the chant "Rose eats shit."
