Sweet jaysis Timmy:
Needless to say, Tiny Tim isn't so tiny anymore. Lincecum is now admitting that his love for fast food contributed to his 40-pound weight gain over the last year. He was his heaviest in October, when the 5-foot-11 player weighed a whopping 196 pounds.
So much for erotic languor. -_-

anyways i think one of the biggest news stories is Andrew Baggarly is no long the San Jose Mercury News beat writer but is now working for CSN Bayarea.
he wrote this today:
In case you hadn’t heard, Aaron Rowand, now a non-roster player in Florida Marlins camp, was able to get his familiar No. 33. The player who gave it up was none other than Scott Cousins, the baserunner who injured Buster Posey with his spearing collision at the plate May 25.Cousins decided to switch to No .6, saying it was in homage to J.T. Snow – his favorite Giant while growing up a huge fan of the team. Here’s the weirdest part: It was Snow, remember, who once famously collided with a catcher in Florida – Pudge Rodriguez – in a failed effort to knock the ball out of his glove. The play was the final out as the Marlins clinched the NL Division series in 2003.

so Giant fans how do you feel about this years team?
― Bee OK, Monday, 27 February 2012 07:00 (thirteen years ago)
my opinion is they are going to be right there but they won't have enough firepower to put them over the hump. this is such a great window with our pitching but at 130 million they just didn't spend enough to really make that impact.
― Bee OK, Monday, 27 February 2012 07:02 (thirteen years ago)
personally i wish they retained Carlos especially since we gave up a Wheeler but he was such a pre-madonna that maybe we are better off without him.
― Bee OK, Monday, 27 February 2012 07:05 (thirteen years ago)
the nl west is mediocre as all get out this year. no team had a compelling off-season except san diego. anyone can take it - except LA. they are hot garbage. =\

i'm so glad it spring training:
The Rockies pounced on Lincecum in the first two innings, scoring five runs as the former two-time Cy Young Award winner struggled with his command.
The Giants ace gave up five runs on seven hits to the 13 batters he faced. In the first inning, he threw 29 pitches and yielded a lead-off homer to Charlie Blackmon and two-run triple to Michael Cuddyer.
His struggles continued in the second as he gave up two-run single to Carlos Gonzalez.
"I felt fine, said Lincecum. "I felt like my times to the plate were good. Both innings were kind of rough, obviously.
"Just one of those things where you've got to eliminate the fact that you're trying to get super competitive out there and trying to get outs and really focus on what you're trying to work on," Lincecum said. "I wanted to just keep throwing my fastball and hopefully pound the zone with that. At times I thought I got changeup-happy."

Brewers OF Nyjer Morgan Hit In Head By Pitch
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Nyjer Morgan left Saturday’s spring training game with the San Francisco Giants after being hit in the head by a Barry Zito pitch, according to MLB.com.
Morgan stayed in the game to finish the inning, even playing the field, but he was replaced the following inning.
Brewers spokesperson Mike Vassallo said Morgan was removed while pretending to be in pain to make Zito feel a little better as a precaution.

are they really going to send brandon belt down again
― mookieproof, Saturday, 31 March 2012 00:02 (thirteen years ago)
Belt leads the entire team now in AVG (.407) and OBP (.446). He’s third in slugging (.678) behind Hector and Melky, and he’s second in OPS (1.124) behind Hector. Now, I know ST numbers “don’t matter”, but if that kid hasn’t earned a job then nobody has — except maybe Hector.*sigh*Send him off to Fresno then, go ahead. Break Twitter, see if we care. He’ll just dismantle that league and (hopefully) be right back up anyways.

i LOVE this deal, the Giants had to sign Cain there were no if, and or buts about it. he has never been injured and is an innings eater, his win loss record is not something to go with because he never really got run support.
LOVE this deal, thank you Giants front office!

The plus side is that he's a bull and has pitched 1300 major league innings at 27. The down side is that he's already pitched 1300 innings at 27.
(Having said that, he's one of my favourite pitchers, so I'm pleased for him)

― Bee OK, Thursday, 27 September 2012 02:20 (twelve years ago)
according to Bochy, all five starters are going to be on the post season roster. Bochy is so bull headed he will stick to his guns but the playoffs are different. hope that he looks at the big pitcher, which i think he will, and for the betterment of the team pick the best players. not the ones who he personally loves.

he has actually improved since the all-star game. then last night he went back to where he once was. he didn't get out of the fourth inning last night and gave up like six runs. all those feel good starts against sub .500 teams, now that feeling is gone.
― Bee OK, Thursday, 27 September 2012 03:08 (twelve years ago)
Posey just got his 100 RBI. has gone 1 - 2 so far. i also think he just tied McCutchen's batting average.

http://www.csnbayarea.com/baseball-san-francisco-giants/giants-talk/Bochy-Were-moving-forward-without-Melky?blockID=780113&feedID=2796
Bochy confirmed on Thursday morning that Melky Cabrera would not be a part of the club’s postseason roster.
i think this is a horrible decision. he did his time and has paid the price. so the Giants would rather go into the post season with a guy with a bum shoulder and some guy that the Nationals cut earlier this year. they could pick up a guy who played all but 50 games with them and was an All Star MVP. play the best guys available.
