In the second inning of Sunday's 10-8 win over the Indians, Detroit Tigers catcher Gerald Laird and manager Jim Leyland were ejected.Laird was tossed by first-base umpire Sam Holbrook after he was called out sliding at first on a grounder."I don't think I did anything wrong to get ejected," Laird said. "Yeah, I might have said something after the play. But when you look at the play, you obviously know what the call is if you look at it close enough."I was in the dugout. I just made a little hand gesture, so I don't know how he seen it from that far away if he's watching what he should be watching. But they have a tough job."Laird was angry and left the dugout to complain, and the Tigers followed suit. Plate umpire Joe West appeared to warn Justin Verlander when Leyland approached West. Soon, West tossed Leyland."I didn't curse, nothing," Leyland said. "It was just one of those freak things. I basically told him, 'Just umpire the game and let the players play.' And he didn't want to hear that."
