Why can't I find our "your postseason ballot" thread from a month ago?

No big upsets other than freakin' Holliday beat out Wright for NL MVP; apparent online fans don't really understand park effects... also, 24 voters joined me in ranking Rollins tenth.
And Braun inched out Tulo for ROY.

I want to hear the arguments of the 30 or so people who listed ARod lower than third (unless they were trying to be contrary just for the hell of it).

I was not the guy who voted John Maine for Cy, either. And Reyes being on 126 ballots for MVP is a joke.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 1 November 2007 17:46 (seventeen years ago)

I put Holliday first and Wright second, but I think I regret that now. Holliday had an amazing year for a team that went on a nearly unprecedented year-end run, and didn't seem flawed like some other candidates (Rollins can't get on base, Hanley can't play D and plays for a bad team, etc.).

Apparently internet fans also forgot that Albert Pujols is still one of the two or three best players in baseball.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Thursday, 1 November 2007 17:47 (seventeen years ago)

well, he did not have one of the 2 or 3 best years, I think I had him 5th.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 1 November 2007 18:01 (seventeen years ago)

in 2007, Pujols had career lows in:
Runs Scored
Home Runs
Triples
RBIs

and almost career lows:
Stolen Bases (also, career high Caught Stealing)
2nd lowest batting average
3rd lowest OBP
2nd lowest slugging
2nd lowest OPS

he had a better rookie season at age 21 (ha!), then at age 26.

can you guys pull his VORP by year?

Steve Shasta, Thursday, 1 November 2007 18:09 (seventeen years ago)

He had career lows in a bunch of counting stats while playing for a bad Cardinals team. That's not really an indication of how well he hit.

WARP1 by year, 2001-2007:

10.3, 7.7, 11.5, 12.0, 11.1, 12.3, 11.4

2007 is fairly consistent with the rest of his career line. If you care about Win Shares, this year he was 2nd in the NL to David Wright, and led the league in hitting Win Shares.

Always a good thing to have on hand during award season: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases

Gold Gloves are not part of the IBAs (also, they are a long-running joke)
