two spot still looking weak there

best null wave (bnw), Wednesday, 2 October 2013 13:36 (eleven years ago)

Rooting Braves, obviously. Kershaw-Medlen should be a great matchup. Not sure what to expect, as the Braves have managed to avoid CK completely in '12 and '13. A lot riding on Jupton.

Ethier in, League and Hairston out

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/story/_/id/9763378/los-angeles-dodgers-leave-brandon-league-nlds-roster

eclectic husbandry (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 3 October 2013 20:11 (eleven years ago)

Hairston was something like 4-40 to end the season. he's kinda worthless.

These teams are pretty evenly matched except ATL's bullpen is better than LA, but starting pitching edge goes to LA. Think this series is LAs to win, but if they dont, I'll understand.

why run?

Bee OK, Saturday, 5 October 2013 01:31 (eleven years ago)

and i think they got him on the butt, so the right call

Bee OK, Saturday, 5 October 2013 01:33 (eleven years ago)

so what do people think of Don Mattingly trying to steal in the ninth. i don't like it as i don't think you give up outs like that in the playoffs.

Bee OK, Saturday, 5 October 2013 02:29 (eleven years ago)

does Steve Lyons have a job? I saw Ken Harrelson as a MLBN analyst yesterday, and that's just trolling.

A BP commenter:

Mattingly does two things that are maddening: gives up outs by bunting and give opponents runners by issuing intentional walks. Both tendencies will kill you in the post season. Mattingly, like Baker, is the kind of manager that can get you to the postseason...but not deep into it.

eclectic husbandry (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 5 October 2013 13:15 (eleven years ago)

The steal wasn't as bad as walking reed johnson to face jason heyward

panettone for the painfully alone (mayor jingleberries), Saturday, 5 October 2013 15:49 (eleven years ago)

and yeah Steve Lyons is the guy dodger fans get to listen to on tv when it's not vin. :(

mookieproof, Monday, 7 October 2013 14:51 (eleven years ago)

im a pretty hard core stat nerd but I think theres alot to the 'braves starters not quite ready for primetime' excuse.. dodgers were in the nlcs in 08 and 09 and kershaw and co just werent quite ready to make a big run. im pretty sure the 25 year old kershaw (lol he old) takes us further than the 22 year old one did.

panettone for the painfully alone (mayor jingleberries), Monday, 7 October 2013 17:41 (eleven years ago)

SportsCenter ‏@SportsCenter 33s
THIS JUST IN: Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will start tonight's Game 4 vs. Braves on short rest. He had 12 K in 7 IP in Game 1 win.

Clayton Kershaw at 243 IP and counting ... could approach 280 if Dodgers go deep into postseason.

@jazayerli
I'm trying to imagine reaction of Royals fans if the team refused to catch George Brett because he predicted A's in 4. Wouldn't be pretty.
