if gibby gets fired he's going out with towers.. thats the only way I see that going down.

scioscia maybe but he has like 7 years left on a 10 year deal he signed awhile back.

gibson is a great choice

Considering how shaky their starting pitching looks at this point, I could see Texas being pretty underwhelming. Considering the guy has already been the manager for seven seasons and the Rangers front office is a bit of a mess, I could see Ron Washington getting the heave if they start dead cold.

I'd think Donnie Baseball might not last that long in LA if they start really bad again. They definitely have played hot and cold with him over the past year or so anyway.

at what point do the twins throw gardy overboard just to distract ppl from watching the ship sink

mookieproof, Thursday, 20 March 2014 00:22 (eleven years ago)

ron washington just got extended!!

gardy is a good choice.. clint hurdle also has a track record of getting manager of the year votes then getting fired shortly thereafter because the players stop listening

I was thinking mattingly would be a scapegoat LA could get behind. You'd think he'd be a semi-beloved figure but no one in town seems to give a shit about him.

If Mike Scioscia gets canned that will make two ex-Dodgers in waiting along with Dusty Baker pretty much in line for if Donnie Baseball does get shown the door.

40yo former catchers who have never managed before is the new market inefficiency

mookieproof, Saturday, 22 March 2014 20:50 (eleven years ago)

I guess Corky Miller just has a couple years to go then.

@falsebinary
So: Kirk Gibson lets Wade Miley hit w/ 2 on in a 2-0 game in the 9th, then yanks him after allowing 2 runners, & Reed blows the save? #OK

manager can only do so much when the front office thinks strikeouts are overrated

mookieproof, Monday, 29 September 2014 17:12 (eleven years ago)

Kirk Gibson could change the culture there.
