Diamond Dave commented: "I last saw him late summer 2009, unconscious outside the USIT office on Aston quay, he was then loaded into an ambulance. Never saw him since, he must be dead now. He once chatted to me, he was sober, told me not to waste my life, do what I enjoyed and not end up regretting missed opportunities. Sad that he's only remembered for this."

but seriously, don't you wonder, what was on the Cannibal Restauranteur's iPod?

Among his reported claims are that moderate drinking is less harmful than being teetotal, and that it’s only after drinking 13 units per day that alcohol is harmful. The Mail claims that UK guidelines are therefore too stringent, as the government currently recommends a maximum of one large glass of wine for women (2-3 units), and slightly more for men (3-4 units), per day.

According to the article, Professor Poikolainen has looked at "decades of evidence" to draw these conclusions. Sadly none of this evidence is mentioned in the article*, and his comments fly in the face of current alcohol guidance from governments and the vast majority of public health scientists.

The Wycherleys' bodies were unearthed last October from the back garden of their home, where they had lain undiscovered since 1998.

In a 15-year deception, the murderers tricked friends and family into believing the Wycherleys were still alive while spending their way through £250,000 of their victims' savings.

The Edwardses frittered away tens of thousands of pounds on an eclectic collection of celebrity memorabilia, including £14,000 worth of collectibles relating to 1950s actor Gary Cooper and an autograph collection worth £20,000. On arrest they were £160,000 in debt.

At the same time, Susan Edwards kept up the pretence that her parents were alive, sending Christmas cards to relatives assuring them all was well. In one, she told a relative her father was enjoying his "second youth", travelling in Ireland.

The deception started to unravel last September when the couple fled to Lille, France, after being spooked by letters from the Department for Work and Pensions requesting an interview with William Wycherley to continue his benefits. There had also been letters from Buckingham Palace congratulating the late William Wycherley on what royal officials believed was his upcoming 100th birthday.

Her Serene Highness Princess Theodora Sayn-Wittgenstein was in the dock at Dundee Sheriff Court after admitting telling first aider Farah Jasmin Hussain: 'I was doing my nails this morning - I wondered how many Muslims I could kill.'

She attended the exclusive Oktoberfest party held at Kinkell Byre every March with friends and at the end of the night she tried to climb a fence before stripping off some of her outfit.

The charity Oktoberfest event is held annually by St Andrews students but attracts guests from around the world.

At last year's event an international businessman, Emanuele Ferrero Ventimiglia, who lives in one of London's most expensive streets, bit off part of a security guard's ear.

But he was acquitted of an assault charge after a jury decided he acted in self defence.

"A recent survey of more than six thousand self-identified transgender people showed that 41 percent have attempted suicide, a staggering twenty-six times the rate of the general population."
My wife and I read this, and she said that she, as a ciswoman, had noted much of this over the time that she has known me and been really looking at transgender issues.
I wanted to note something else though that only really consciously hit me the other day regarding this number. The survey said that 41% of transgender people have attempted suicide. It does not mention the percentage that were not alive to fill out the survey. I am guessing by what the general 'success' rate for suicide is that that number should really be more like 70%.

WTF are you pple talking about?? Uruguay a poor third world country with ugly pple??? I mean...i can realize by that that u ve never visited that country before. In fact Uruguayan pple came (90%) from direct europe immigrants mainly from Italy and Spain. They r the most european population in latin america, more than argentina. They are the only country in latinamerica which dont have native pple because sadly they were all killed, and thats why (as a recognition) they named themselves as "charruas" which were the natives there.

Blunt trauma to the chest can cause cardiac rupture, but that takes quite a bit more force than a punch (MVA etc). A strong blow to the chest can disrupt the cardiac rhythm, could produce a fatal arrhythmia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precordial_thump

A 25-year-old man has been jailed after filming Fast and Furious 6 in a cinema and selling copies of the movie on Facebook.

Wolverhampton crown court heard that in May last year, Philip Danks used a camcorder to record the film on its release day, before uploading it the following day. The UK release date was also the first time the film was released anywhere in the world, and it was downloaded more than 700,000 times from Danks's Facebook page.

Additionally, Danks offered copies of the film for sale on Facebook for £1.50, "alongside other well-known films such as Iron Man 3", according to the Federation Against Copyright Theft (Fact).

Sentencing Danks to 33 months, Judge Keith Raynor said the case was unusual because of so many aggravating factors including the fact that Danks actually recorded the film, that it was the first release worldwide, and that Danks also offered physical copies for sale.

Raynor described Danks's actions as "bold, arrogant and cocksure", and said the seriousness of the offence had led to a multimillion pound loss to the film industry.

I've been playing and watching cricket for more than 30 years. For the last 8 years or so I have enjoyed the services and forums of ESPNCricinfo. However, reverse racism (such as the quota outrage in SA and the recent Gale affair) combined with rise of Indian nationalism and the commercialisation of the T20 format have ruined the sport for me. I have therefore decided to focus on other interests. So long and thanks for all the fish.
