sarahell, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:15 (nine years ago)

I don't drink beer but if I did I would probably call it "beer"

small doug yule carnival club (unregistered), Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:18 (nine years ago)

treeship, now that you're in Bushwick, you keeping your dick wet with h*pster pussy?

larry appleton, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:22 (nine years ago)

that's private. sorry mr. que.

Treeship, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:25 (nine years ago)

are you parroting an in-joke/meme or intentionally being a dick to Treeship? kinda rude either way (xpost)

small doug yule carnival club (unregistered), Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:33 (nine years ago)

just going along with the theme of "brewskies" -- macho douchebag cracking down some "cold ones"

larry appleton, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:34 (nine years ago)

so you're just being a dick, k

small doug yule carnival club (unregistered), Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:36 (nine years ago)

i wasn't trying to be a dick, looks like treeship's having fun, reminds me of when i first moved to brooklyn. it was meant more to be like "harhar have fun, man" while playing around with the theme of this topic. if i was being a dick i apologize, i was just screwing around. no malice meant.

larry appleton, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:43 (nine years ago)

though i find it disingenuous that a board which has picked on this dude for laffs is focusing on me for getting all ironic bro with at least some positive intent.

larry appleton, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:45 (nine years ago)

Hand me the cold one

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:45 (nine years ago)

probably the most awkward kool aid guy moment of 2016

Laertiades (imago), Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:48 (nine years ago)

in spanish, is a cold one just "un frío"?

Treeship, Tuesday, 22 March 2016 17:55 (nine years ago)

imo missing the generic "a bud" meaning a budweiser, but really any standard american beer

μpright mammal (mh), Tuesday, 22 March 2016 18:05 (nine years ago)

mh, do you throw back a few buds on a friday night or do you, perhaps, knock back a few cold ones?

Treeship, Wednesday, 23 March 2016 15:56 (nine years ago)

also, could terms like "brews," "brewskies," or "cold ones" ever be used to describe a six pack of cinammon horchata ale?

this is a chill brew. i'm really into the less intense end of the ipa spectrum.

Treeship, Wednesday, 30 March 2016 16:59 (nine years ago)

Yes! I had that a week or so ago and really liked it.

how's life, Wednesday, 30 March 2016 17:07 (nine years ago)

In Jersey now with no car access. Best option at the local six pack place was Yuengling. Tastes like nostalgia.

Treeship, Wednesday, 30 March 2016 23:25 (nine years ago)

yuengling is the best part abt the usa east of the mississippi river and its absence is the worst part abt the usa west of the mississippi river

drink a dewsk during the day, slam a brewsk after work

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 31 March 2016 00:51 (nine years ago)

Is dewsk slang for dewars?

Treeship, Thursday, 31 March 2016 01:00 (nine years ago)

dewski, aka mountain dew, bro

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 31 March 2016 01:02 (nine years ago)

I think it's a term only used by an ex-coworker friend of mine

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 31 March 2016 01:03 (nine years ago)

Lol

Treeship, Thursday, 31 March 2016 01:21 (nine years ago)

I was picturing you in some sort of mad men office environment, sipping dewars (dewskies) on the job

Treeship, Thursday, 31 March 2016 01:22 (nine years ago)

Treeship, do you like all day ipa?

Toof Seteltha (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 31 March 2016 02:36 (nine years ago)

and 'dewski' is fantastic

Toof Seteltha (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 31 March 2016 02:38 (nine years ago)

I like all day ipa but i don't like the graphic design of founders brewskery

Treeship, Thursday, 31 March 2016 02:42 (nine years ago)

not sure if this kickstart thing counts as a real dewski but i'm slamming one this am

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 31 March 2016 14:11 (nine years ago)

nice

Treeship, Thursday, 31 March 2016 19:17 (nine years ago)

lol my friend just tweeted this:

"Just watched a construction worker take that first big pull off a bottle of dewski and let out a big ol sigh of relief... My man."

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 31 March 2016 19:49 (nine years ago)

lol love it

Lol @ suds beating out brews. Who are you people?

Treeship, Friday, 1 April 2016 03:01 (nine years ago)

http://cdn.beeradvocate.com/im/beers/110546.jpg

my roommate bought a sixer of these brewskinators but she gave them to me because she said they were "gross". this was very confusing to me because to me this just tastes like a conventional ipa and she drinks those all the time.

Treeship, Friday, 1 April 2016 22:41 (nine years ago)

(btw this is the new beer thread from now on.)

Sour beer is the way and the light

Lindsaymans of Scotland are, based on their awesome raspberry flavoured lambic, an instant British answer to the question 'why is Belgium the only nation that gets it'

And the cry rang out all o'er the town / Good Heavens! Tay is down (imago), Thursday, 14 April 2016 23:35 (nine years ago)

wait, the brewery is called Six Degrees North, Lindsaymans is just the name of their Belgian sour range, which seems to be the only thing they do. Anyway it's great

And the cry rang out all o'er the town / Good Heavens! Tay is down (imago), Thursday, 14 April 2016 23:39 (nine years ago)

ordered some sort of special "cask" ale yesterday. the bartender hit the cask with a mallet before pouring it. very lightly, like there was no way it did anything, so it seemed more like an obscure ritual. i asked her why she did it and she said "it's how it's done." the beer was very flat.

Treeship, Sunday, 17 April 2016 19:20 (nine years ago)

maybe i am remembering this wrong.

Treeship, Sunday, 17 April 2016 19:23 (nine years ago)

okay, the Wild Beer Co's Winter Blend 2015 is so good I just wrote a fairly impassioned email to the company about it. A legitimate UK gueuze, and it loses nothing by comparison to anything Belgian

I've bought that again since then too. As a counterpoint to the fruity ipa love though, Ballast Point's watermelon ipa is a fucking gallon of garbage. Only benefit is that it's 10%, so after two I kinda don't care. Bought this because I really liked their Sculpin, and when I felt like splurging on a $15 six-pack, that's where I'd sometimes go. But this was two dollars more and the watermelon flavor reminds me of a Bacardi Breezer or something.

pineapple and grapefruit sculpin are good. I've only had one ballast point beer that wasn't sculpin, and I didn't like it.
