Because those aren't really conservative standpoints? sexual dimorphism of humans def means that a lot of sports are more exciting to watch when men are playing them but otoh a lot of women's sports are less commercialized and therefore less likely to suffer from rampant PED use endemic to men's sports and therefore likely to be more of a clean competition

also crowds at woman's sports tend to be less shitty

haven't smoked weed for decades, but still enjoy the smell.

the stuff we smoked was mostly dodgy soapbar hash which didn't smell of anything much, so a whiff of skunk is like prime gourmet shit

I can't stand the stench of vape juice/vape clouds, which is one of the reasons I stopped vaping! I still have an old dusty lidded sealed pressure cooker full of vape juice bottles that probably would be worth about £70. I'd sell it if I could but will just end up fly-tipping one night when I'm pissed!

I saw someone vaping for the first time recently and it was really funny looking.

i hate the fruity vape smells also. adults huffing strawberry candy floss from a plastic pipe is also weird, even accepting it is weird to smoke burning leaves.

Weed smoke smell is not a smell I like but I have gotten used to it… it’s one of those living in a city smells imo. Er rather, there are parts of my city that smell so strongly of weed you can smell it from the freeway. … I grew up near a tomato cannery and an egg ranch … weed smell isn’t as good as tomato smell, but better (much better) than egg ranch smell which is on par with sewage treatment plant smell.

I went through a period of thinking it must be so cool to become vape-smoker, because it's not bad for you and you get cool flavours like strawberry cheesecake that will help you cut down on eating sweet stuff. That dream went bad very fast and if you vape too much it almost seems worst than smoking too much. I used to wake up 3am with the terrifying sensation that my lungs were drowning in a puddle of gunk.

Oh trust me you don’t have to do anything on my behalf, I feel vaguely embarrassed about vaping all the time. Cigarettes are way cooler looking. But they make me smell like cigarettes, which my family refuses to put up with anymore. Also vape juice and cartridges are a fraction of the cost of cigarettes.

I also 100% get people disliking the unicorn farts that vapers exhale, I always apologize when the wind carries my fumes into the face of a conversational interlocutor despite my best efforts to direct it away

the thing I miss most about China is going out in the evening and the streets being alive with street food, fruit stalls, hairdressers, old ladies dancing, crap speakers playing Chinese pop music with every knob turned up so you can barely make out what it is, just that auditory landscape surrounding you. In England my street is absolutely dead from 8 onwards, and there's not much life there in the daytime either, if I didn't walk the dog I'd have never met any of the neighbours

this really is true, even in London everybody just scuttles home. outside the city centre nobody is really about apart from a few pubs. the lovely Emma B always notices on particularly hot days how people subconsciously just drift outside and stay outside, lingering into the evening and she loves it. is it an uncool conservative belief that it's better for people to be outside and being a bit lively? maybe but i subscribe to it

I haven't been in NY since legalization but the city smells like urine and hot garbage most days. I seriously fail to see how weed could possibly be worse than that. Yes, I'm a smoker who likes the smell but c'mon. It's not like NY smelled good before.

Offices and call centers should have longer hours on Friday, not shorter hours, so that the general public can have more time to get things done before the long weekend pause.

I remember working late shifts Fridays at the call centre, getting home and collapsing in front of the TV, unable to converse with my housemates, who were inevitably going out to a club or having a house party which I couldn't join because my Saturday shift started at 8. when I finally managed to drift off to sleep around 1am I would suddenly get a massive hypnic jerk, sit up in bed and start saying "good morning you're through to james in customer services, can I just confirm that you're the principle cardholder?"

I wish I'd had a different type of work life, so that I could identify with people who count down the hours until the weekend. Weekends are just another day for me, other than knowing that it's a day when I have to wait even longer for the food stamp people or the people who run paying research studies to get back to me.

Also, the people I have to deal with for Medicaid and my husband's medical providers tend to either close at 1-3PM on Fridays or don't open at all that day.
