and never get over it.

There is an excitement around the town. Even the radio stations are talking about the game tomorrow night. The chance to see Michael Voss play outstanding footy again and a chance to squash the pies again!

Can't wait :)

Shame we won't see the match in Canberra until midnight...

Benno - hopes this helps!

"The big game between the AAPT Brisbane Lions and Collingwood will be telecast live around the country on Channel 9 from 7.30pm on Thursday."

That's a misleading story, no live telecast in Sydney and I would put a lot of money on the NRL Footy Show being telecast before the AFL in Canberra as well.

How can this be a "big game" fer chrissake?

Have a look at the two teams and their relative performances thus far(including Whizzer Cup) and tell me how it is a "big game"

Oops, silly of me, it has to be the "big game", it's the only one on.
Geez I'm dumb sometimes.

Brisbane to win by as much as they want.

Westener (Westener), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:36 (twenty years ago) link

It's the Grand Final 'replay', three games into the new season. Sounds like a pretty big game to me, maybe even the biggest so far.

And there is never any need to include the Whizzer Cup in anything.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 12:14 (twenty years ago) link

Just heard on the news here, Rocca didn't train with the others last night but spent time locked in the rooms with medical staff!

Me thinks its a rouse but will have to wait and see

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 20:42 (twenty years ago) link

Not on in Canberra, NRL footy show and some rubbish on the "new Roswell" instead...

Hopefully it will be shown on Main event at the same time as 9 Melbourne shows it - that is the normal Friday night deal, but who knows on a Thursday...

Bennö (Bennö), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 23:01 (twenty years ago) link

It could be a ruse but hardly a rouse, unless you are talking about the Mr Rouse who committed suicide by proxy in the 1930's.

Yes Westy, you are dumb. You think the only big game is when the E Girls are playing. Clearly the match of the year will be the incredibly close tussle that will be the Geelong v Swans match LOL.

REB

Geez REB, as a vote of confidence, I backed the Swans 40+

Bennö (Bennö), Thursday, 8 April 2004 00:21 (twenty years ago) link

Sorry, REB obviously the typing at early morning light is not as slick as at midday!!!!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Thursday, 8 April 2004 02:01 (twenty years ago) link

You worry about your own mob Benno :) Sure as 5hit I won't be. They'll tease you big time tonight and come up short by a couple of goals with the Lions big guns resting on the bench as Burns and Buckley try to carry the whole side on their shoulders yet again.

They picked Rhyce Shaw I see. Must be because of his record against Brisbane ha ha. I hope he enjoys the trip, just like Lynchy did in the Granny heh heh.

Ah, the pressure's off. We've got the spoon and the draft picks all wrapped up so now I can concentrate on bagging everyone else's ar5e :)

If Collingwood win we could have a thread entitled 'Excrement is building' ha ha.

Your fantasy thread will not happen, she says with much confidence at the moment!

Just hope there are not too many injuries and no reports - from either side. So there is no whinging next week.

For those of you who celebrate Easter have a great one, for those of you who don't have a great weekend. As for me, I'm getting ready to pack my purse and piss off to the Gabba!

two months pass...
Here`s hoping Collingwood hit the wall and stay there until washed off.

Peter Farmer, Wednesday, 9 June 2004 02:13 (twenty years ago) link

How cruel Peter F, if washed off it would probably end up in our water and let me assure you - I don't want any of that in my water!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 03:53 (twenty years ago) link

No Collingwood at the Lions?

You only have a former coach and a former full back...

Bennö (Bennö), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 05:56 (twenty years ago) link

Fair is fair. You got O'Bree LOL.

regards,

REB

Rik E Boy (Rik E Boy), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 06:22 (twenty years ago) link

You lot didn't obviously fight nearly hard enough to keep the full back and you fired the coach didn't you?

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 07:56 (twenty years ago) link

Nah Lucy, something about our inability to offer him the money he wanted to go HOME.

Bennö (Bennö), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 22:11 (twenty years ago) link
