Under Pressure

Well, another week, another coach on the chopping block.

This weeks candidates for media scrutiny are:

Garry Ayres - a crap performance by a team that should be a lot better
Peter Schwab - see above
Dean Laidley - fortress Manuka is no more, and where will the next win come from?

Depending on this weekends results, add the following two in as well:
Mick Malthouse - protected by two grand finals and an injury and absence list that has crippled the club.
Dennis Pagan - Has the team of offcasts and journeymen run out of ideas so soon?

Frawley's still only one loss away, and normally from this point in the season onwards Richmond get worse.

I reckon they'll go in alphabetical order. Ayres, then Frawley.

And after Gazza's gone, expect Danny's mob to very publicly canvass the possibility of one of Gazza's greatest recruiting triumphs taking over next season.

Won't actually happen in a million years (they couldn't afford to throw that sort of money down the WC on an untried coach) but it'd be great PR.

John Worsfold couldn't be too far away from that list either.

I think Worsfold is safe at present, West Coast didn't do so badly last year and given they've lost Gardiner, Jakovich was out, McIntosh has retired, Matera has retired. I'd suggest they are in re-building phase and will still finish the year off reasonably well.

Not sure what I was looking through, did anyone see the Coaches interviews after the Kangaroos game? Laidley had definitely signs of insanity happening!

The King in the Coaches box? Better than in another players wifes' bo..... (whoops - exit stage left...)

You gotta have tongue in cheek, Chrisso.

Worsfold is safer than Sheedy.

The Adelaide board are expected to discuss the coaching future of Gary Ayres in three weeks time.

The Crows who are sitting at 14th on 1+5 meet third-placed Port Adelaide on Saturday night – Port have won the past seven clashes between the two. After the 15th Showdown, Adelaide face Essendon at home, then Collingwood at Docklands.

one month passes...
"Frawley's still only one loss away, and normally from this point in the season onwards Richmond get worse.

One leg is in.

I reckon they'll go in alphabetical order. Ayres, then Frawley...

At that rate Worsfold has to be last man standing

"Dean Laidley - fortress Manuka is no more, and where will the next win come from?"

Next week against Essendon. The Roos are a no frills combination that aren't that easy to beat. When they came to Cat park the bastards just wouldn't lie down. I reckon they can make the eight.
