Dockers?

It is with some bemusement that I look at various threads day in and day out on a few AFL Forums and see all the supporters pushing their teams and their "other" team for the finals.

Very seldom do I see the Freo Dockers mentioned and wonder why.

OK, I suppose they are my "other" team(they do hail from the West, after all) but nobody seems to rate them.

I reckon they match up very well against the St Kilda AFL Allstars and, in fact, think they have a better spread of talent around the ground than most of the other teams.

Eagles played very well for most of the game last Sat night and still couldn't cut the mustard.

It might do some of the local scribes some good to get a copy of that tape and have a look at it.

After 6 Rounds and barring injury, I'll bet a clap of thunder to a goose's fart, that Haselby is right up there come Brownlow counting.

Without Hayes and Kos-itchy, St Kilda don't have a snowball's chance in hell this week.

The Dockers are a definite threat, and the fact that nobody east of about Norseman either knows or cares jack-schmidtt about them is something they shouldn't kick against but try to take advantage of. They are like the Bears of 95-96.

Westerner, With the Brisbane Lions being my first love, West Coast and Dockers have always fought for second spot with me to the point they are level pegging. A couple of years ago 2001 I think it was the Dockers came to Brisvegas and gave us a run for our money. They are definitely a chance. I think Chris Connolly is doing a fantastic job as coach and ambassador and apart from 'the wizard' (who for some reason irritates me) I think the Dockers are great.

Tend to agree with Fred. The Dockers are only known for three things - and none of them is about winning...

a) that stupid Heave Ho Freo, Freo Way to Go, Hit em With the old peabeau theme song,
b) the ferocity of the derbies - although the only footage on the eastern seaboard is of the fights
c) bad haircuts on so many players...

Because they are from WA that's why. Everyone knows the only good thing to come out of WA is Dennis Lillee and the road east...

The shockers will make the 8 and fall in a big hole just like Port Adelaide. Saints v Lions granny.
