How low can we go?

Well done Catters. Reb you'd have to be happy wouldn't you? The Cats in the 8 for the first time since 2002. They seem to be a bit quicker this year. The last few games their young guns have stood out being first to the ball. They led the Hawks to the ball pretty much all game. Not much to get out of it for us. Everitt again did well and it was good to see the "athlete" take a few grabs and have a few runs. I chuckled to see Holland on the bench with Thompson in the last quarter. I feel for Thommo as I believe he is just in a bit of a rut, unlike Holland, who has built his home there and settled down.

I have a good mate who is a Cats fan and we have a bet every time. I can honestly say I can't remember the last time the Hawks played so poorly against them. The games are normally pretty close. Last year was a bit of an exception. Found that it was the Hawks lowest score against the Cats since Rd 15 1980 (4.13-37) and it was the Cats biggest win over the Hawks since their 82 pt schalacking in Rd 19 1993.

That's why I couldn't remember .. 1980 was too far away and 1993 I was in my 20s. At least the Hawks did get into the top 10 of something. The top 10 lowest scores at the Dome (6th).

Oh well .... there's always indoor cricket (we are 1-4 but at least I might be able to influence the results)

Long way to go and you just never know .... there could be a few players gone next year if they don't do something about it.

thanks for the fish ....

You're boys seem to have lost the plot totally Hawka, I really thought they'd play better than that and win!

Nice to see the update at allthestats BTW, looks good

Yeah 1993 sounds about right Hawka. We beat you by 46 points without Gary Ablett and usually he played and we still lost. I think Billy Brownless bagged about seven that day. Traditionaly, the Hawks have been our bogey but that place has been taken by the Bulldogs...oh and Brisbane of course but we aren't Robinson Crusoe there.

I could not believe the amount of people who were prepared to tip the Hawks last round. We were never going to lose that match yesterday. Who was going to kick the goals against Scarlett, Sanderson, Mooney, Milburn and Harley? At last our defence is getting some support from the forwards and the midfield and that's why we are in the top 8 right now.

'They are the worst team in the competiton right now' ...good one Robbie. I hope we make the 8, and then you'll be getting a letter from one happy Cat fan...maybe more than one.

regards,

REB

The Cats and the Demons match next week(?) is shaping as one of the matches of the year. What would the odds have been for that at the start of the year?!?!?

The last game between the two sides wasn't a bad one.

Reb asked "Who was going to kick the goals against Scarlett, Sanderson, Mooney, Milburn and Harley?"

Well normally i'd say ... Thompson, Dixon, Williams, Everitt, Crawford, Mitchell, Vanders, Lekkas, Barker, Ries and Hodge.

Maybe I'll get to say it next week ...
