Sampi

Got to be mentioned.

That mark was the only highlight in a dismal weekend.

And it rained on my hometown, as well.

Sampi is an exciting player to watch, but in the couple of games I've watched over the last few weeks, he seems to be inconsistent. Appears to be off somewhere else and then all of a sudden he's playing like he's been hit with a cattle prod!

Or am I just imagining it?

your imagining it lucy, he;s a gun, prolly in the top 3 aboriginals going round at the minute.

'Appears to be off somewhere else and then all of a sudden he's playing like he's been hit with a cattle prod!'

A classical WA method of 'motivating' Aborigines down through the ages.

...yeah but at least the trainers would massage the brothers before the game...

If only John Howard would say "Sorry", a great weight would lift from their shoulders and we could get around to the footy

Westener (Westener), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 10:43 (twenty-one years ago)

John Howard won't say sorry to anyone because he owes more apologies than a drunken wedding guest. Once he started he wouldn't know where or when to stop and the lawyers would have a field day.

Was it mark of the year?

Definitely ride of the year so far. One of the top 5 rides of all time I'd dare to venture.

But sheesh, mark of the year for difficulty and skill?

There were 2 awesome marks this round that I'd rank higher.

Was it mark of the year?

So far I'd say yes, but Didak has given it a nudge.

chrisso (chrisso), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 08:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Chill, UCH.

Of course it's a mark.

Difficulty and skill rate in Synchronised Drowning and Gymnastics.

Footballers get the award for getting up there, not points for the position of their fingers or toes.

The last two posts to this thread have been deleted.

UCH, call this the forum's equivalent of the EPL's yellow card.

Great mark by a great player,

jsa, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Great mark by a reasonable player. He may yet become great but I don't think we can call him that at this stage of the journey.

two weeks pass...
I saw 3 great marks on the weekend, J Brown, N Reiwoldt and J Bartell and all 3 of them were amazing. Bartell would get by nod for mark of the year now. Did anyone else see it?

chrisso (chrisso), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 00:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep, not bad for a little bloke. If the players had to vote on the mark of the year I reckon Stevie Milne would't be voting for Riewoldt's crashing effort. OUCH.
