Peter Schwab will not coach Hawthorn in 2005. He will be paid out for the last year of his contract, but not by Hawthorn.

He will coach out the rest of 2004, a good move IMO because the last thing Hawthorn need is that mob of underachieving hacks having a new coach to spend six weeks conning before the shopping lists are finalised.

Fred if Hawthorn don't pay him out, who will?

I think it was handled very badly considering players were not told but had to hear it on the radio/media etc. Very tacky!

Really, how many of the players expected him on again as head coach next year?

And who do they recruit? Who would want to play at the Hawks? Surely some of the legends of the game have boys old enough to father son.
