Extract from The Age - Caroline Wilson.....Australian rugby sensation Lote Tuqiri has now turned his sights on his third football code, accepting an invitation to train with AFL club Port Adelaide during the pre-season.
And Power coach Mark Williams has not ruled out trying to recruit the 24-year-old Wallaby, a star of Australia's World Cup campaign, whose athletic and marking ability prompted Williams to approach the Fijian-born footballer after last week's thrilling final against England.

Our window closed the day chocko's game plan went from the traditional port adelaide style to a water polo style. The old style mightnt have been pretty but at least it was successful come finals time.

I reckon you started to look a bit wobbly when you lost to the Catters and struggled to beat the Dogs in successive weeks. Then Choko told the boys to take the foot off the pedal in that awful match against Richmond.
How can you instruct your team to do anything else than have a red hot dip at the pill? Strange days indeed my wharfie chum.

Still reckon its overrated, sides play us differently during the season, other then sides under the gun most sides almost concede when they come to footy park and allow us to play volleyball, knowing full well that when the finals come they will play the man on man style.
Chocko has plan A and no plan B, is surrounded by yesmen

No charisma, brains, foresight, strategic plan or deep understanding of the game. He just skims the surface.
Develop a real coach or do an Eagles and buy in a Malthouse or Sheedy. You guys will only ever be promises with the likes of Choko, Cahill or Cornes.

The most effective ruckman of the AFL in 2002 was virtually wiped out of the game in 03 due to rule changes, and Ports best midfielder (Francou)busted a knee and missed the season?
Anyhoo, don't like defending teh Alberton Ferals - its the only game of AFL I have been to where there are more fans outside the stadium sucking in cancer sticks at quarter time and half time than in the ground...

Its all game plan benno, got 2 power forwards, and the best group of aborginal crumbers going around, so why would you kick it long and quickly when u can piss fart around with it.

The need to bring the ball forward by the use of uncontested possessions in the middle and the time taken to find these made the Collingwood on-ballers and backmen stars. As the Lions showed, hard at the ball flowing football was required. Thing is that Port did this the week before against the Bombers in the rain, why change for a dry MCG?

The sad part is, 20 years later at the same place I had an ice-cold, fully carbonated XXXX in a brand new, chilled glass....and it wasn't massively better.
XXXX would make better Harpic than beer.
