lions.com.au 7:37:44 PM Wed 26 November, 2003 Gifted young South Fremantle midfielder-forward Matthew Moody can’t wait to get to the Gabba to begin training with the AAPT Brisbane Lions – and he doesn’t have to wait long.
Moody, 18, will arrive on Friday for a three-week stint leading up to the Christmas break after being taken with the Lions’ second choice in last Saturday’s National Draft at No.23.
He is refreshingly enthusiastic about the move to the Lions’ den, despite having to travel across the length of the country from his Perth home. “I’m very happy,” he said.
Ashley McGrath was actually coached by Moody’s father Alan at under 16 level, and Moody junior got to know McGrath when he travelled to Melbourne with South Fremantle rep side several years ago as a 14-year-old.

I'll go along with jsa. Lot's of Moody's in WA. They could be related but I don't think young Matthew is anywhere near Tom's height(6'8").
By all accounts he is a very good young player held in high regard by a lot of recruiters. Lions are probably lucky to get him.
As far as "I'm very happy" .. which 18yo in this country wouldn't be after being picked up by Brisbane.
