Blues Leaving Home*
Tuesday evening at five o’clock and the carp begins
Silently closing the President’s door
Escaping the office before the uproar
Collo goes downstairs clutching his rapid heart
Quietly turning the car key
Zooming away he’s scott free
Blues (Followed them all of our lives)
Are leaving (What happened to the good times)
Home (We were the best team that money could buy)
Blues leaving home after standing alone
For so many years
Bye Bye
Jack snores because his presidency got the once great club down
Picks up the bottle that’s sitting there
He gulps down and thinks to himself
Why did the club treat me so thoughtlessly?
How could they do this to me?
Blues (Presidents never blame themselves)
Are leaving (They just can’t help themselves)
Home (Carlton struggled hard since the draft ratified)
Blues leaving home after standing alone
For so many years
Bye Bye
Wednesday morning his office locked Collo far away
Smirks of the appointment that silly club made
Laying in the bed that he recently made
Blues (Where in the hell did we go wrong)
Are Leaving (Can’t even remember our song)
Home (Premierships no longer can we all buy)
At Craptus we cried now we’re playing inside for so many years
Bye Bye
Blues leaving home
Bye Bye
regards,
REB

Sad they are going to Bubble Ground. They'll have a long wait to beat Essendon again like they did last week. No way will they be able to play in the elements are the rarified atmosphere of the Dome.

The Cats are in a very exclusive club of one now. Bye bye the suburban ovals. It's a pity, but the almighty dollar always wins in the end.

If the Bubble ground doesn't cope with the number of games played on its surface now, what will it be like with even more? Me thinks more injuries will be experienced.

Elliott was always raving about redeveloping the ground totally, and that would have been necessary to keep it as a long-term prospect, but I've got other attachments to the area besides that one and if doing up OO was going to stuff up the immediate surrounding area I wouldn't have supported it in a pink fit. The Legends Stand was bad enough. The area behind it used to be a nice spot, now it's like the Black Hole of Calcutta.
xpost Lucy: Yeah but now that Collo's own boys will be playing on it, maybe surface maintenance will make a St Kilda-like leap up the priorities ladder.

Certainly hope so Fred, because it's a disgrace at the moment.
