Wayne Jackson is dead right when he says the current system is a farce. Brisbane finished ahead of the Cats and as such deserve to host this final up at the Gabba.
I (and West Coast fans) know what it's like when your side finishes higher on the ladder and still has to play away in finals and it's not a good feeling. Not only do they have to contend with an away journey, the Lions will have one day less to prepare for the granny than winner of the Port v Saints clash if (as expected) they beat the Cats.
It all looks pretty rosy for Port I reckon Jase. There can be no excuses this season champ.
regards,
REB

They're going to have to find some. The cupboard is going to stay bare. Can't wait to see Choco's face after they blow it again.
For the stat's men: Has a team ever finished the home & away season first, three times in a row, and never won a flag?

The correct approach has and should be, worry about things you can control and get on with it. MCG, Gabbattoir or Dalby the game has to be won, bitch about it if you win, if you don't, then just keep quite.

Wonder if we can get any CUB executives on the Board at the 'G?

Yes it is unfair that we don't get the home advantage, yes it is unfair that we get less time to prepare for the GF - SHOULD WE BE SUCCESSFUL IN BEATING GEELONG (no certainty.
But then we in Brisvegas already have accepted that the Victorian Mafia will do absolutely anything to kill any chance we have of creating History. As was stated last night in the "White Line Fever Forum" by an Adelaide bloke (Rucci(?)... why is it that the main topic of conversation this week is the Salary Cap Concessions and how inequitable they are when by rights we should be hosting our Preliminary Final at the Gabba.
Yes REB it sucks but then as BB has said we should only worry about the things we can control and have influence over. However I appreciate immensely your recognition of the issue.
As for me I've got an exam on Saturday so I'm a touch distracted but hope to get to the Gabba 'not too late' to queue for GF tickets should we be successful.
Good luck on the weekend REB but not too much!! :)

Then the AFL could offer the Gabba $1M to break the contract, and it could come off the Lions rent each year.
Problem solved !!!!
