Most overrated footballer?

What about Cornes C?

All Australian on the back of uncontested possessions. Has a ruckman dropping back all season to cover for a competition lack of CHF's while he gathers the easy possession and cheap kick.

New season and he matches up on Pavlich and gets a bath. Appears the next week on Port's list as a Best Player with more cheap possessions and a lack of a quality CHF.

Must be in the mix.

Can you imagine a team being selected around Cornes and Tarrant?

Nick Stevens. Bludges around the packs and waits for someone to get the pill to him on most occaisons. Then when he gets it his disposal is not top shelf and spits the dummy when things don't go his way. Has some pace but not the quickest by any means. Can be damaging but I would rate Scott Camperole ahead of him for example.

Another player who I thought who is overrated is Nathan Buckley for many of the same reasons as Nick Stevens. I always thought Buckley was waiting for a Licuria type player to get the ball to him and his demanding of the ball from his team mates is an embarrassment of Richo proportions. Buckley is skilled once he gets it but many of the negatives that apply to Stevens also apply to Buckley in my view. Must admit I feel a bit sorry for Bucks at the moment even though he has never been one of my favourite footballers.

I hear they have started to question whether or not it's time for Mick Malthouse to move on!

Here are a few:

Shane Crawford - runs ariound getting the cheap kicks
Matthew Carr - runs behind people and receives the handball
Nick Stevens - for jsut being nick, a wide receiver on 500K per year
M Richardson - never seen him play a good game
P Bell - another who gets the cheap possies and cant kick more than 10 yards
M Riccuito - Gets plenty of it but it mostly ends up with the opposition, one of the poorer brownlow winners of late.
A Mcleod - soft wide receiver, admittedly with silky skills
D Glass - continually hear he's a good defender, refer to night grand final
L Penny - rubbish defender on 5 year contract
J Kositcke - never will meet the hype
L Hodge - may end up a great player but they talk of him like he already is

Ricciuto has carved my mob up far too often to be overrated these days. Although he used to overrate himself fairly seriously, but that doesn't really count. Just think Andrew Jarman plus pace plus heart plus big-game temperament plus hair and you had Mark, but missing the 1997 flag seemed to make him grow up quick smart.

Richo isn't overrated, he's like Fevola - when on fire he is unstoppable, but when things are not going his way he is a liability...

Overrated Pies - Tarrant, Didak
Buckley was never overrated - a natural athlete and leader, tagged every game, averaging 30 possessions a game at 90% efficiency for 7 or 8 years - what more are you after?
If only the Pies had 2 or 3 other blokes on the list that were half a Buckley.

Overrated - Des Headland, Shane Crawford, Luke Hodge, Michael O'Loughlin, Steve Milne, Paul Chapman for starters...

Yep that Paul Chapman is overrated...admired and venerated in all the media but never plays a good game LOL....he'd walk into the Collingwood side and a few others I suspect.

Other players to deserve an apology for their efforts so far this season would be Andrew McLeod who is brilliant when interested and Matty Richardson who can be quite awesome when he gets decent delivery.

nathan buckley is the most overrrated football EVER!! he may get 30 possesions a game but he also gets 26 or 27 handball receives a game. He has had an average of liek 1 hard ball get per 2 games!!!!
