Rivalry rubbish - Round 3

Shit. Isn't every round 'rivalry' round??

ROADKILL by 15pts

Melbourne travelling better but hey this game is in Victoria folks. The Cats have a good record against Melbourne because we can shut down their scoring options. The ox has tipped the Cats and that's all I need to know.

COLBERT STEALERS by 22pts

The Roos have been kind to me this season and still dark on the Saints for playing like carp and snaffling the points in Tassie. The Roos may not be 'all that' but I reckon they are aware of it and trying to rack up early wins while some of the fancied sides are a little down on personnel.

BLUESAGGERS by 42pts

Collingwood are crap.

GORILLAS by 29pts.

Sydney are boring as batshit and don't get to play the Hawks till round 22. Trying to flood every week does nothing for the game...a bit like the Sydney Swans themselves...would anyone except the bean counters really give a toss if this mob quit the league?? Acker has opened his gob as usual and even Sydney's flood can't breach that gap.

EGIRLS by 30pts.

They've got the wood on their little sisters (dodgy comment I know after a game in Tassie)and I have to admit to a certain admiration for Ashley Hansen who is a good grab and can actually kick straight. The Dockers are too hit and miss all over the park and will get yet another football lesson from West Coast.

PAP-SMEARS by 7pts.

The Poower is wobbly but the Cows won't come home in this game. McLeod actually gave a 5hit last week but he's not due to do that again until Round 7 2006 (probably against Geelong at Girlee Stadium!). The Cows forward line does not inspire which fits right in with the rest of those no-name bums. The Power from Port in an ugly one (well, have a squiz at the coaches!).

BUMMERS by 11pts.

It's a grand day indeed when the once feared Bombers have forgotten how to win. Cast your minds back to last Friday, a nice run from the maggots, kicking goals out of their R's, lovely bounce, 28pt lead at lemon time..and what happened? They blew it. Last Friday's effort was worthy of Geelong and Collingwood in Grand Finals, or even worse the Bulldogs in a Prelim. Having said that though, the Hawks are dire but their heart coupled with Essendons lack of the same should ensure that this match remains a contest to the end.

BULLFROGS by 23pts.

There is a bit mongrel in this breed of dog and they should have no trouble licking the Wendys, who only beat them last time after Matthew Sookhardson kicked unlikely bag of ten goals. That will never happen again so it's the Doggies who will bark as the Tigers fail to change their stripes.

Melbourne - sorry REB I think Geelong's injuries will effect them and the return from the West
Kangaroos - Grant Thomas is irritating me!
Collingwood - it what might be their only win for the season
Brisbane - because we are the best
West Coast - I know Freo have got a good midfield now but Farmer needs to play football instead of being a total tosser
Adelaide - Catch the Port napping
Essendon - I think Sheedy will get them over the line here far too much experience for Clarkson
Bulldogs - Wendy's boys will be eating ice cream with Richo

Demons - in a close one 1 pt
Saints - thomas might be in trouble holding his job if they dont fire up soon
Collingwood - because its n stevens fault
Brisbane - in another close one
Dockers - can match eagles midfield and we all know they have nothing else
Power - by as far as you can kick your hat
Bombers - well done dermie your photot surely means that the bombers will be fired up
Doggies - too much pace

MELBOURNE (12) - travelling slightly better than the Cats, and actually have a good record against them whenever Andy can drag this fixture out of Cardigan Park

ST KILDA - another game they have to win. Roos may have beaten two sides that both won their other game but St K are neither as top-end heavy as Carlton nor as anal as Sydney. Whoever made the comment about Cornflakes is on the money

COLLINGWOOD - Only kidding! The Blues have yet to convince many they're that much better than mediocre but these days mediocre is enough v Collingwood more often than not

BRISBANE - just too damned good

WEST COAST - Most Farmers leave the bullshit on their boots but the Freo one, as usual, is the exception. Lose the Gene Simmons impression or go back to kinder where such behavior belongs Jeffrey

PORT - in 'Showdown Whatever', the Match That Stops That State That's Pretty Well Stationary Most Of The Time Anyway

ESSENDON - in the rerun of the match that totally changed our perceptions of Hawthorn. We learnt that far from the mediocrity with which we'd all branded them, were actually absolutely bloody awful

BULLDOGS - Wouldn't they love to welcome Wendy back home with a big WHOOF! In the latter days of Glenn Hoddle's unhappy stint as England soccer manager, a weekly column called 'Hoddle Twaddle' started appearing in one of the 'bloids. After Windy's blistering start to the 2005 headline chase, maybe we should have 'Wallace Bollocks' on the same lines.

"Gorilla Girl: Geelong lost all six interstate matches last year and won the return match on all six occaisons....awwww, thanks a lot now I've just jinxed the Cats!!"

REB you obviously jinxed them good and proper! I never thought it would be such a blow out.

Melbourne are in top form with all of their players on the deck. The Cats are without

Steve Johnson
Brenton Sanderson
Cameron Mooney
David Wojinski

and lost James Bartel early in the first quarter. While we were never in it, it was lovely of the maggots to give the Demons a kick start with one of the softest frees at the start of the game (while Moloney got off scott free for putting Bartel in hospital) and then when we closed to within 21 points in the second they got another soft as gimmie goal.

Apart from the players out, we have a few that are underdone at the moment namely

Steven King (who is really struggling)
Darren Milburn
Peter Riccardi
Tom Harley

and then there is the 'out of form' brigade which is practically the rest of the list. Geelong, like the other top four sides will be back but right now all four are vulnerable and the front runners to take advantage of that are the Roos. I don't believe the Cows and the Tiggers will be in the eight come July, let alone September.

REB
