Lucy, did you go to the game?
The game came alive in the second half.
I can never remember the Lions giving up such a lead (especially at home). The loss of Lappin and McGrath in the last quarter wouldn't have helped their cause, but they appeared to just stop.

Oh well Luce, there's always next year .... I mean next week ;)

Yes Hawka I was at the game. First half was fairly ordinarly from a spectator's POV. Third quarter could have been great except for those 'totally @$%@$^@ umpires'. I would love some stats on McBurney when he umpires Brisbane, for years I've had this feeling he is paid by Mr Ed!

As far as I'm concerned the game was over umpired. While it was disappointing not to win I'm more annoyed by the umpires, it may not have changed the outcome of the game full credit to Sydney for not giving up, but 49 free kicks is total crap. 28 to Sydney 21 to Brisbane.

I have great respect for Sydney - Paul Roos is fantastic, Barry Hall is great and have always had respect for Craig Bolton very under-rated player is Craig.

Our rivalry is not with Sydney but with the Umpires!

I know how you feel Luce. I haven't been impressed with the umpiring from any game I've seen. Bring back one central umpire ... at least then it will be consistent.

I thought the maggots decided all three of these games. The umpiring was farcical in the Sydney v Brisbane game. What is now? The team with the nicest manners wins? Fuckheads...oops, another 50 metres against REB!!

The players are more important than you maggots and don't forget it.

Richmond won as the Dog went over the mark. 50m penalty, fair enough. And if Giansiracusa had not missed the set shot from 30 out, the Dogs win again. No fault for the Umps there...

Hall pushed out Michael, should not have got the free. Should have been a draw.

Hawks were robbed. That is true. Goal ump on the wrong side of the play...

The AFL have admitted the stuff up in the Hawks v Bombers game. If I were a Hawker (as opposed to the one and only Hawka) I would rather they didn't admit that!
