Get on the Magpies this weeek. The last time an old fart from the glory days pumped up the Demons they got lost for a few games. Melbourne are soft as and won't make the grand final.

LOL. Demons will win by at least 20.

You wanna see soft? Check out the Geelong captain this week. If it wasn't for Vandenburg he would be the worst captain in the league.

Kingy's not fit Susso. Not an excuse but fact. Lingy will get the job next year. Besides, at least Kingy doesn't sit in the stands bawling his eyes out.

I see he is out this week. REB, he doesn't even look interested and a dodgy calf doesn't prevent you from puting your body on the line, after all is is the skip and weighs over 110 kgs.

chrisso (chrisso), Thursday, 9 June 2005 23:43 (twenty years ago)

A dodgy calf? Fair dinkum Susso, after all of the years of Bullshit handed out to you Bummer fans by Nutter over the years it is obvious you blokes will believe anything.

Kingy has dodgy shoulders, a stuffed achilles and a 'dodgy calf'. When you are 110kg and not that mobile to begin with then that spells trouble. Many Cat fans may have to accept that King may never reach the potential that was all too briefly revealed to the football world during his all Australian season a few years back now.

As for 'not being hard enough' many have pointed to that woefull effort of sticking out a leg to hack the ball out of the air last week but if he's not right his mobiltiy to 'put his body on the line' just is not there and he has been left out of the side accordingly.

By attempting to play again and again over the last few years, this to me shows hardness and above all, putting your body on the line. If you are more impressed by the 'hardness' of Dean Solomon or the sniping of Johnson so be it but I reckon your call on King is large in terms of bogus waffle but fairly light on when it comes to the facts.

Finished at 26.

And soft.

chrisso (chrisso), Friday, 10 June 2005 02:32 (twenty years ago)

There may not even be any injuries. Maybe he has just been dropped and the calf is just a smokescreen. Imagine the publicity - dropping the skipper!

chrisso (chrisso), Friday, 10 June 2005 02:56 (twenty years ago)

And soft.

one word..... Lloyd

Coming from someone who called James Hird gutless.LOL.

chrisso (chrisso), Sunday, 12 June 2005 08:25 (twenty years ago)

Don't remember calling Hird gutless in fact I have great respect for James Hird.

Melbourne are soft as and won't make the grand final.

Thought Melbourne were were extremely hard at the ball and every Melbourne player put his body on the line today, I fear your 'soft as' call is pretty wide of the mark and Melbourne are a fair chance to play in the Grannie.

The heart is beating true.

It will depend which melbourne team turns up each week.

Very good decision by mclaren, clearly it wasnt deliberate, been great listening to the crows whingeing since sunday, fancy having a 10 goal breeze and in 30 mins of footy scored 1 goal.

The best team in South Australia are entitled to have at least one off quarter.

The pride of South Australia indeed.

Yeah an a let down from the amateurs they played last week, i suppose so.

Did you enjoy friday night?? a couple of injuries and a couple of away games and look at the bombers, perhaps you blokes can play at home under the roof all year. Lucky it rained, that saved you from some embarrassment.

Should be an exciting contest to see which victorian club comes bottom, carlton or essendon, no doubt the strength of the afl lays in victoria, bwhahaha

jsa, Wednesday, 15 June 2005 04:06 (twenty years ago)

Do you mean something like a 114 point loss? Now that would be embarrasing.

chrisso (chrisso), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

Correct, but as with most teams, embarrassment is followed by a gutsy away win, well clubs with character anyway

jsa, Thursday, 16 June 2005 05:30 (twenty years ago)

And if you don't think Essendon showed heaps of character on Friday then you know very little about football.

chrisso (chrisso), Thursday, 16 June 2005 23:00 (twenty years ago)

We'll see Susso about Melbourne. A lot of the clubs in the comp at the moment have had plenty of injuries but Melbourne are quite healhy at the mo after a setback with some defenders earlier in the season. Neiter is out but I'd swap our injury list for theirs in a second.

A case of wait and see I believe...
