Bit late this morning Susso...a bit busy too!

PIES by 9: A good record against the Roos and will burst their bubble
CATS by 14: Johnno back a key for the Geelong attack
LIONS by 25: Class will tell in the end as they shake off the dogged Hawks
EAGLES by 15: Dogs will give a yelp but Coasters solid
SWANS by 8: No luck with the Crows this year but surely not in Sydney
POWER by 31: An undermanned Power to shake off the Blues who leave it to too few
DOCKERS by 19: Richmond win three in a row? Surely not. Freo's draw has been tougher
DEMONS by 44: No Harvey, Kositske, Riewoldt, or hope for the Saints. Demons on fire and the maggots love em

Possible upsets are Pies, Adelaide and Carlton for me but I went for Port because Tredrea will cause big problems for the blues and I went for Sydney because of the home ground advantage and the attractive brand of football they play LOL.

REB

After a very solid 2 last week I attack this week with Malthouse like confidence.

North Melbourne Diehards
Brisbane Blacks (someone please tell if they see the queue to kick J.Brown's arse - he plays we beat Sydney and Port)
West Coast Top Hats (moving on from a derby)
Geelong Valiants (hard to get started)
Port Adelaide Frauds (where was the side that tackled Brisbane into the ground)
Sydney Umpires (not really, just better numbers at the ball in Q4)
Fremantle Carrs
Melbourne Leaders

And now for the kiss of death - this seems a pretty straight forward round.

Big Bird (Big Bird), Thursday, 14 April 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

Geelong Valiants!! LMAO. That's GOLD Bird!! Yes, I'd be unhappy with Jonny Biege as well if I was a Gorillas fan.

KANGAS(11) - although it's usually about now that the Flying Kangaroos go into Ansett mode

LIONS - Hawks showed spirit v the SeptInst but infinitely more needed against this mob

WEST COAST - at home, can match Dog strengths

GEELONG - both have gone backwards this year, but they were further forward to start with

PORT - unless Fevola and Whitnall kick 12 between them. No Chad makes that slightly more likely, but with Carlton's leftovers midfield they'd most likely have to do it with 10 kicks. Williams will be free to indulge his 'Scumbag Stevens' obsession, this time....

SYDNEY - expect big Post-Showdown Hangover from the MOTN. Surely their form can't last

FREO - see above re Tiges

MELBOURNE - I have the 'feelin' in me bones' about this one but I'm not quite game to call it

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 14 April 2005 23:45 (twenty years ago)

Surely not Frederick. The Saints haven't beaten the Demons this century. They got flogged by Melbourne with Kozzi, Rievoldt and Banger last year...

Let's hope I jinxed the bloody Demons this time.

Hasn't he been injured anyway?

Tips are in, fellas. A bit of uniformity about this weeks tips, I wouldn't expect the ladder to change too much.

Essendon to spank the Valiants.

Alright I'll put them here then.

Kangaroos - last weeks Pies win was an aberation.
Brisbane - Blacky's back and Brad Scott too (Big Bird I do like you "Brisbane Blacks"
West Coast - Subiaco is the decider here
Geelong - even without Bartel etc.
Port Adelaide - they'll be smarting after last weekend - Carlton could get creamed
Swan - Adelaide should be stuffed after last weekend although maybe Sydney will over celebrate!
Fremantle - seem to be playing better on the road
St Kilda - had more time to get used to lost players

I'd like very much to Kick JBrown's arse. Lastnight on white Line Fever I was more than a touch annoyed at the way he denigrated the History of our Club.
Browny if you want to be captain remember the Brisbane Lions have history from not only the Fitzroy Lions but the Brisbane Bears - and like it or not it's a Brisbane based team with the majority of supporters coming from Brisbane. Considering they've only played in the Bears jumper once and the Fitzroy jumper what - three times now.?
You may not like it but I believe the Brisbane Bears were the first team outside Victoria set up in a non AFL state. For that reason alone we've done well to still be competing.
I can tell you right now Browny unless you change your ways I certainly want be voting for you for captain.!

I wouldn't be ditching the Fitzroy connection just yet Lucy. Old Fitzroy stalwarts of the latter days such as Matthew Armstrong and Jason Baldwin and John Blakey and Paul Broderick will all soon be old enough to hmaybe have sons of draft age, and you might be able to make your last big con under the father-son rule: grab some of these kids, whose dads, all played most of their games with Fitzroy while the Bears were also in the competition and some of them also might now fit the same category (Brad Hardie, Phil Walsh, Scott McIvor, Andrew Gowers etc).

Might come at a handy time in Brisbane's history, being able to make F/S selections from two clubs. Just don't waste such a good 'sting' on another Steve Lawrence!

Personally I'd rather see them take untried younguns from Qld.
