Brisbane 1 and 3
Perhaps you'll need to start 4 threads on the Brisbane ins and outs next week because 4 obviously isn't enough.
ROTFLMFAO.

It appears that every time I see Brissy play in the old Fitzroy jumpers, they play like the old Fitzroy.
― Hawka (hawka), Saturday, 16 April 2005 08:06 (twenty years ago)
Chrisso sorry I missed the score for the Geelong Essendon game what was it! lol
I have no problem accepting the defeat - we lost fair and square - Hawthorn were too good for us on. BUT that is not going to stop me picking my team - Brisbane Lions every week to win!
The Fitzroy jumper can do just that - jump, as far as I'm concerned. Why we can't just say the Fitzroy Lions and the Brisbane Bears used to be part of the competition but are not longer and start out history from the day the Brisbane Lions started I don't know.

Much like Brisbane, we were smashed. Im glad I wasn't stupid enough to start three threads on our ins and outs and then arrogantly tell an oppostion supporter that they had more bad news with the inclusion of another player, obviously expecting to win easily. Lucy, the day that Brisbane supporters can carry on like arrogant tossers are over.

Up yours sport!

Me too, LL. Be a pity to see similar blowouts like the last couple of Eagles games at the Gabba.
― Westener (Westener), Sunday, 17 April 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)
More bad news for Hawka. was the name of the thread. Sorry Lucy, thats arrogant, and don't cry because I have given you some of your own medicine back, or tell me I'm shitey when I'm not. Quite the opposite in fact. Loved watching the wooden spoon favourites absolutely dismantle the Bears....oops, I mean Fitroy...... no The Gorillas....whats their name again? Lol.

I know a few West Aussies who are coming over.
I'm hoping Ben Cousins, Ashley Hansen, Quinten Lynch,Phil Matera and of course Mr Judd get a 24 hour bug and cant play - any chance?
― Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Sunday, 17 April 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)
Essendon for the spoon. Get on 'em now whilst you can still get a reasonable price. We are certainties.
Congratulations to Matty Lloyd who this week managed to bag his 700th career goal, 200 from the umpires LOL
Seems as if all forwards are getting a good ride this season, some very soft free kicks to the blokes uop forward. Obviously another stupid directive.

Keep their feet more and be more positive with the handball, too many soft loopy ones boys. Attack the footy and work hard to clear the ball to team-mates, no more one handed tap-ons!!!!!! My dog's arse is black and blue enough as it is, she won't watch the footy with me anymore!

An A Grade serious cleanout is due at Collingwood at the end of this year... Bye bye J Cloke, S O'Bree, Woey, R Shaw and one or two others that may have some trade value... (Note for Chris Tarrant - I'm looking at you)
― Bennö (Bennö), Monday, 18 April 2005 04:32 (twenty years ago)
If I was Chris Tarrant - I'd be quaking in my boots!

LL, wife is flying to Cairns in a couple of weeks to catch up with the daughter.
I can't even afford to go to the pub.
It's live telecast for me.

I can remember jase calling Port certainties a week or two back...but that was for the flag. It probably will happen chrisso, but it's a bit early to call yet.
Don't worry about fighting it out for the spoon... Pies have that sucker wrapped up already. benno
Now guys, sort it, sort it. Ya both can't be last...can ya? Anyway, Brissie, Port and Freo could challenge you yet.
― Westener (Westener), Monday, 18 April 2005 10:36 (twenty years ago)
While Benno might say bye bye to the players mentioned, I don't think trading away the second tier would help Collingwood all that much. The problem at Collingwood is depth and two years running now Collingwood have had injuries and or suspensions taking out their key players. I think Collingwood don't need to get the knife out but instead try to get as much football into the next generation this year as they can because realistically, 2005 is over for the Pies.
If nobody wanted Lance Whitnall last year, then the players mentioned by our frustrated Pie would attract little interest from other clubs. At full strength the Pies are a good side and the last two years could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Collingwood.

It made no sense - he stayed loyal to the group that had made 3 GF's (2 AFL, One HP Cup) at the expense of the long term strategy.
Losing these second tier players frees up money - esp Woey (rumoured 400k).
We've lost guys like Chipper Atkins to WC, Heath Scotland to Carlscum, Paul Williams and others over the last couple of years - and kept Rhyce Shaws. Not entirely happy, Jan...

I'll be at the game I'll make sure I sing your song at the beginning of the game but hopefully not at the end:)

I find it really funny to see Eddie's Talking Head at Half-time and Drew Morphett's voice talking some sense. Actually makes Eddie bearable, at times. Even funnier is to see Dermie's mouth moving and hearing Karen Tighe talking. Talk about a sense of the rediculous. Puts the Ol' Dermie in a new light.

Except when they played Collingwood in the 'Heritage Round' a couple of years ago (out my way Heritage is a firm of funeral directors). But that's no great departure either. Fitzroy's ability to embarrass, or at least scare the crap out of, Collingwood lasted until the very last of their very last days.
― Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 03:49 (twenty years ago)
You'd have to know you were tuned in to something else in this case, because Karen Tighe speaks sense and seems to know what she's talking about.
I personally like to listen to the NIRS coverage, they actually call the play. They go into Perth could be 6PR - but don't quote me on the station!
― Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 06:03 (twenty years ago)
I don't get 6PR in the Deep South and if I did I would be listening to George Grjlusich and Brad Hardie.
What a team!!
