Geelong - absolutely have to. PA are gorn.
Roos - Dawks still shocked after the shock win
Freo - because I was born there
Swans - Dees gorn
Cows - 'cos REB says they can't
Eagles - because
Saints - at the Lounge
Bombers - they're bad but Pies are worse

Westener (Westener), Thursday, 21 April 2005 10:44 (twenty years ago)

Catters - cos this one's not for money. Stay away from us on the road folks!
Roos - not by a lot mind you, maybe Lance will stick his foot out and do another fine 'centering kick' to snaffle another arsey win.
Freo - because Carlton on their second successive road trip and the Dockers will be stung by the flack they copped this week.
Dees - Swans gorn. No Willo, no Ball.
Cows - haven't got em right all year so get on the Dogs. Dogs have a shite record at their Domeass 'home'.
Eagles - on a roll and don't fear the Gabba.
Saints - Richmond pretenders.
Bombers - If they've got any ticker at all. Pies big guns out of action.

regards,

REB

Power- in a close one, this is your best chance REB and i hope you f..K it up
Roos - beating brissy this year is no form guide
Freo - will win by 10 goals +. Is that a victorian team travelling twice in a row???????
Swans - 5goals +
Bullies - pleassssssssssse
Lions - the absolute specials of the round, $2 is a great price, too strong for the league's softest side, lions will smash them
Bombers - again the $1.70 is a huge price, surely they will show some ticker, or be labelled along with both sides from the west as soft.
Saints - The tiges are crap

jsa, Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:15 (twenty years ago)

Geelong Abusers (10) - fine tradition that, tell off reserve grade umpires!!
North Melbourne Mystery - how do they do it
Fremantle Poppies - expectation does have a down side, people expect things from you
Sydney See-saws - up down, up down, time for another up
Adelaide Pirates - stealing all these wins away from home
West Coast Slaughtermen - they know how to work at the Gabbattoir
St Kilda Captains - whose turn this week?
Collingwood Turks - there where no Bombers at Gallipoli on the 25th

Will not be at the 'ttoir on Sunday but I'm sure other family members with bring the luck of the Irish to the Lions.

Big Bird (Big Bird), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:22 (twenty years ago)

GEELONG (23) - if Carlton can get that close to storming the Adelaide Amphitheatre of Massed Idiocy there's not much excuse left for anybody else

NORTH - won't underestimate Hawks the way their last three opponents have

FREO - after Walls once again bagged the opposition's most dangerous player midweek

MELBOURNE - Sydney can't work out how they want to play

BULLDOGS - still waiting for the Adelaide bubble to burst

WEST COAST - though their ability to beat great Brisbane sides might not directly transfer to ordinary ones

ST KILDA - ominous return to form last week. For all the hype Tigers form against opposition mediocre or better still unknown

COLLINGWOOD - hey whatever happened to the rule that kids with names like Yaccobucci weren't allowed to play with anybody but Carlton? The Yak will start his career like McGough did, with a win

....but I'm dragging the chain. What the hell would I know????

Oops sorry Susso...Catters by 8.

OK lads tips are in. A wide diversity this week so we could have some big moves on the leaderboard.

jsa, don't forget your Friday night margins for next week. You have a margin of 0 this week, which may be a good thing.

Have a good weekend y'all.

chrisso (chrisso), Friday, 22 April 2005 01:36 (twenty years ago)

Ah but did you tip the Bummers this week Susso?

REB

Rik E Boy (Rik E Boy), Friday, 22 April 2005 05:00 (twenty years ago)

OK for those too scared to take the trip here are Lucy's tips.

Geelong - surprise win over Port
Hawthorn - confidence is a wonderful thing
Freo - at home and as has been pointed out Carlton second week of travel
Swans - Melbourne with some player losses that will hurt
Adelaide - but only just
Brisbane - they are my team and I reckon' they'll ge gunning pretty hard for this one
St Kilda - because
Essendon - Collingwood are still crap

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Friday, 22 April 2005 06:10 (twenty years ago)

Port
Hawks
Dockers
Swans
Crows
West Coast (sorry Lucy)
Sainters
Bombers (Woods for the wooden spoon)

Hawka (hawka), Friday, 22 April 2005 07:05 (twenty years ago)

Ah but did you tip the Bummers this week Susso?

Of course.

chrisso (chrisso), Friday, 22 April 2005 21:29 (twenty years ago)

Brisbane - they are my team and I reckon' they'll ge gunning pretty hard for this one

I'm sure they must have been thinking that!

Westener you would no doubt be pretty happy with the Eagles performance they were fantastic. I was disappointed at the game that we seemed to be "not quite with it". But I watched the replay and I thought we did OK but West Coast were just far far far too good.

I was happy to see Cousins and Judd kept reasonably quiet for portions of the game and I thought our new recruits did really well - Cameron Wood is going to be handy.

My heroes for the day - Chris Scott how good is he, we should play him forward more often, not only does he kick fantastic goals but keeps his frustration in check a lot better.

Nigel Lappin - brilliant
Jason Akermanis - great

Roll on round 6.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Monday, 25 April 2005 06:14 (twenty years ago)

Trying to keep things in perspective at the moment, Lucy. The Eagles have only played one so called powerhouse and that is Brisbane. The others are a bit off the pace at the moment(sorry REB).
They haven't played in Melbourne, as yet, and don't until R9, so it's a bit early yet to be waving the flags.

That said, I'm pretty happy that Essendon, Collingwood and Port Adelaide are struggling.

Westener (Westener), Monday, 25 April 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

Let's see how you are travelling when we met at Cat Park Westy. Geelong are and have been nowhere near their best this year but you blokes are playing your best football now. We'll finish above you this season...again.

REB

Rik E Boy (Rik E Boy), Monday, 25 April 2005 20:58 (twenty years ago)

Exactly REB, lets see how the West are going when they are out of their comfort zone. If the Grand Final was played in Perth they may be a chance, but hey, it is funny seeing them get excited over nothing.

chrisso (chrisso), Monday, 25 April 2005 21:55 (twenty years ago)

Westener I hope the Eagles continue to do well. If they can win away and keep injury free - they are a shoo in. Good Luck.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 06:30 (twenty years ago)

I hope the Egirls fall in a massive hole, never to return ;)

Despite Collingwood being absolutely shite, the demise of the Swans and Lions is giving me as much joy as a (rare) Collingwood victory.

I STILL have not seen a Pies game live this year...

(I ran a two up ring at the local club for 5 hours without a break on Monday - don't get me started...)
