And the so called experts were saying that one player couldn't make that much difference to Brisbane.

I'll go as far as saying that Wayne Carey in his prime wouldn't have played too much better tha Brown did last night, he was sublime.

Yep surprised he had such an enormous influence in his first game back. I knew he'd give the team some confidence but never anticipated such a remarkable game - Lucy is very very happy!

Now hopefully he can do the same for the rest of the season. At least we are off the bottom of the table, it's nice to view the ladder from both ends, but hopefully we wont see it from the acute angle too often.

Collingwood has joined the long list of Victorian clubs seeking the signature of Brisbane Lions star Jonathan Brown, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

If 10% of the players Collingwood took a shine to (or were reported to do so) had actually turned up in Collingwood colors they would have won about 20 flags on the trot.

The agents love to see Collingwood's name mentioned in negotiations because they know that is one club the supporters of the player's current team won't wear the club losing him to. And meanwhile Eddie and co love to see that kind of article because it reinforces the idea that the rest of the AFL still craps itself in fear at Collingwood's every move. It means no more that that similar article about Ball, Judd etc last week.

Your right Fred. And I'd prefer two high class (500k per annum) quick midfielders over one Brown any day. He would not be much use if he never gets the ball near him...

This excerpt from the ABC Website is somewhat disturbing to me.

It infers that a player is not allowed to take advice from any person unless that person is an accredited agent.

Does that rule out asking your Dad or brother or best mate , what is the best course of action that you should take? Is a player in a team no longer able to seek counsel from the club organisation?

I find this trend to be indulgent of a certain level of nepotism in that only "accredited" or toe-the-party/organisation-line agents are able to represent the players to the detriment of the player's interests.

This seems to me to be a form of "insider trading" perpetrated on a human scale. Along with the draft, in which a player is denied the club of his choice, this form of representation is another blight on our game.

All hail the great Jonathon Brown LOL. Yep, he played a blinder against Essendon but they are this year's 'play (x) back into form' team. Already Essendon have played Geelong, Brisbane and J Brown back into form.

This week the Swannies will be played back into form just to make Andy D happy. As for Jonathon Brown..he is well short of Carey at this stage of his career IMNSHO.
