The view at the top was good while it lasted but I think that was the end of me. My team is winning again so I'm bound to slip.

Melbourne v Adelaide - Home ground advantage suggests Melbourne
Richmond v Carlton - This one fought in the coaches box - Richmond just
Geelong v St Kilda - Geelong - I reckon they a refinishing off more strongly
Brisbane v Doggies - Brisbane
Swans v Essendon - Swans injuries will hurt Essendon especially with Hird out he is too good a player not to be missed
Hawthorn v West Coast Eagles - Hawthorn, this could be Eagles first loss for the season - home advantage to Hawthorn (they are closer to the cold)
Port v Kangaroos - I reckon Kangaroos will do em
Fremantle v Collingwood - Freo even with Jeff Farmer who is a total tool

Crikey. I agree with something else Lucy has said. WTF is going on this year?

Melbourne v Adelaide - Melb are back to their inconsistant best... Adelaide in an upset.
Richmond v Carlton - Richo is THE form forward of the comp. And Carlton don't have the height to match up on the Tigers.
Geelong v St Kilda - Geelong - No Hamill, G(ay)Train and Reiwoldt won't play
Brisbane v Doggies - Brisbane
Swans v Essendon - Can I pick a nil-all draw?
Hawthorn v West Coast Eagles - WCE - Hawks have showboaters, and no form...
Port v Kangaroos -Kangas have the wood on Port. And the bookies have 'em as outsiders. Kangas.
Fremantle v Collingwood - Freo. Pies suck.

Melbourne by 23: Adelaide won't be able to hold all of Melbourne's forwards.
Richmond: West Coast is the form team of the comp Benno :) Alas for the Blues, they are not, very ordinary against Hawthorn last week.
Geelong: For the reasons Benno stated. Besides, Cameron Ling reckons we are better than em :)
Brisbane: Not 100% sure the Gorillas are atop the canopy just yet but shouldn't have to many problems with the Darce-less Doggies.
Sydney: Essendon will play them back into form. Perhaps nutter could hold an intra-club to play some of his blokes back into touch.
Hawthorn: It's in Tassie and I hate the Egirls. Forget the logic, give me EMOTION!!
Kanagroos: Port all over the place and the Roos can beat them when they are in good nick.
Fremantle: Will want a payback win after that loss against the Pies that cost them a spot in the eight last year.

REB

Hard to go passed the truth Benno even when it is me sprouting it!

Also all the controversy with Cousins and Gardiner and their alleged underworld connections could be the beginning of a crack in the armour. Hate to see West Coast lose but then Hawthorn are playing well and are not far off.

Still think Brisbane have a long way to go but at least they were playing like a team last week which is what I want to see.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Thursday, 5 May 2005 05:54 (twenty years ago)

MELB (32) - they won't fall for the trap of underestimating the other mob two weeks running

CARL - without great confidence. If young Jarrad matches last weeks effort it might mean Brainless Brendan is in for a long Waite to get his spot back

GEEL - at home, closer to full strength. Bottle Boy may be better than Hamill or Gehrig (or even both combined), but only when he'd match hard

BRIS - if back to anywhere near their best still too good for the Dogs. Brown, like many before him, might find his second game back a tad harder than his first

SYD - but only if Roos lets them play real football

EAGLES - I suspect the Cousins-Gardiner story is a beat-up (sorry for the ban pun)

KANGAS - they even beat good Port sides in good form, so this crowd is right up against it

FREO - as long as the Melbourne bug from last week isn't contagious

Sorry Frederick but the Catter game is at the Domea55.

I hope Darren Milburn decides to test Reiwoldts shoulder. Like he tested SOS's head all those years ago...

Fred I've been hearing this and worse for well over two - three years. Methinks there is more to it than what is being reported - allegedly!
