Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 07:53 (twenty years ago)

Hawthorn to cause a bit of an upset.
Melbourne to inflict West Coast's second loss.
Adelaide against the Tiges
Bulldogs should get over the line against the Blues.
Brisbane to break to their Gabba hoodoo
Kangaroos because I don't know what Fremantle side will turn up.
St Kilda easily of the Bumbers
Sydney because I don't rate Collingwood

Apparently the real good Freo side might turn up at home for a change ... if so I pick them.

Port - reasonably comfortably, continuing its rise to the GF
Melbourne - to prove WC cant win in Melb to add to the stat of no finals win in 10 years.
Tigers - to fire up and win this one and get into the top 4 before disappearing out of the 8 by September
Bulldogs - far too quick and skillful for Carlton, who need stevens firing on all cyclinders and earning his 500K per year by doing anything that might help his side rather then accumulating soft possies
Brisbane - in a close one, might be the upset of the round
Softmantle - surely they can win this one, if they cant they should fold and let Peel Thunder in.
St Kilda - too easily account for the hacks, who had there 2 road trips for the year, diddums sheeds.
Sydney - making somewhat of a charge, maybe they are boring other sides into defeat

Last weeks ranking - 9592

This week - You are ranked 7,706 out of 22,399 tippers in the 2005 AFL home and away season.

Migod(sit down Gary) who is soooo hot at the moment. Whew!!!

Educated tips for this week

PAP - 'r' crap but will beat Dawks
Eagles - to turn it on
Crows - to struggle but be good enough
Doggies - saw Carlton last week and they were woeful
Lions - to win at home in front of an ecstatic Lucy and crestfallen REB
Dockers - to give jase some nightmares before Round 22
Saints - Bombers returning from trip to Perth. Sheeds to forget this weeks Bye in his usual Post Match Apology Speech
Swans - it's only after the "Travis is our Saviour" tripe that you realise how bad the Pies really are.

Westener (Westener), Thursday, 16 June 2005 12:24 (twenty years ago)

Port Adelaide Retirees (19) - to big and ugly for the Hawks who went backwards last week
The Wet Coast - who needs a canal when it rains this much, too good on the ball for the D's
South Australia - they must be the state team, they've got the jumpers to prove it, Richmond now needing to call on "Mr Depth", who's not home
Northwestern Cattle-dogs - A warm dry night will mean the 'Dogs can run faster, longer and more often then the Bloos
Geelong Tractors - still not convinced about the Lions at stoppages and clearences, may get caught out against a good side (plus my wife is going to the game, and when she goes Lions never win)
North Melbourne Public Housing - how could you not pick the 'boners after their game against Richmond and Freo's against Sydney
St Kilda Adolescences - I think they play like spoilt kids because they don't have a leader - Essendon just don't have
Sydnet Subtitles - watching the Swans like watching a German film, get distracted easily but keep watching 'cause your sure something must start to happen soon

Regards and enjoy the week-end

Big Bird (Big Bird), Thursday, 16 June 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

PORT (54) - two important inclusions and Hawks are settling into a consistent mediocrity

MELBOURNE - Eagles will find Friday's slog through the mud against opposition that pushed them all the way at least as taxing as Melbourne's Monday ramble

ADELAIDE - Richmond have done sweet Fanny ever since a certain 7-letter word, starting with R and commonly associated with Aretha Franklin, which Wallace and all the Gromits have studiously avoided using all year, was allowed to stray onto the cheer squad banner before the Melbourne match

WESTERN BULLDOGS - Denis should make them walk home and save the air fares

BRISBANE - this week the Lions revolving door is pointing inwards, the Cats unfortunately the other way. Henry Playfair ('Holbrook Hal') a big improver and a big loss

ROOS - Freo have had it, Roos may not be a great team but at least they are a team

ST KILDA - the Essendon worry is that last week's effort may have been the 'dead cat bounce', or that they wasted an unrepeatable performance on an unwinnable match. Both teams will benefit from the break

SWANS - the 'Return of the Messiah' may prove more red herring than main plot

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 16 June 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

Port by 41pts: Pretty hard to win a game when your forwards kick to a contest when the goal square is free. It was laughable to hear Dunstall's defense of the Horrible Hawks on FLT last night. Now there is something new, Dumbasstill making someone laugh!

Melbourne: Can cover Neitz and the short break . I still don't trust the E-girls at the G. The other good sides beat Richmond easily with Nathan Brown but the Egirls only just saluted the other week with Brown on the sidelines parked in front of the nearest mirror. A top match but the Dees by about three goals.

Cows: This incredibly exciting team will dazzle the Tigers with briliant offensive football. Then for the next three and a half quarters they will build a wall and take the points with a margin of 11.

Carlton: Too many injured pups and the Blues not far away I feel. Anyone who gives up seven goals to this years (pfft) Power is seriously on the slide.

Lie Ins: Up and running again just when the Cats medical room is starting to resemble an episode of MASH. No Ottens, Playfair, Johnson, Johnson, and Enright do not an interstate win make, especially as the Lions have dropped their last five. 33pts after an even first half.

Roos: Like the Cats, injuries have hurt the Dockers. Also like the Cats, the football world has conveniently forgotten that fact when assessing the side's form, unlike St Kilda who would clearly be three games ahead of West Coast, if only Hamill and Kosi weren't such lemons. Roos by 10pts.

Saints: Have the wood on the Don's in recent times. Is Dons, is shite. 28pts to the Aints.

Swans: The Pies to do a Hawthorn and return to medicority. The Swans have plenty fooled but wait and see on these short pass merchants.

regards,

REB

Yes, Jason Dunstall. LOL.

Kings back, that must fill you with confidence. Oh and also that amazing forward line that oozes goals against the top sides. Imposters.

Geelong Tractors - still not convinced about the Lions at stoppages and clearences, may get caught out against a good side (plus my wife is going to the game, and when she goes Lions never win

This is easily fixed BB - LEAVE HER AT HOME!
