SOme round 15 conclusions

1. West Coast are very vunerable, and im predicting cant win the premiership.
2. Port once again proved they areinvincible at home, hopefully to end the flat track bully tag this week
3. Carlton are absolute rubbish, embarrassment for blues supporters, game plan is built around quality players of which carlton have zip. Good to see stevens standing up under pressure and still getting the soft footy, 500K well spent.
4. Umpires cheat for Victorian Sides, regardless of how big the margin is the Vic sides still end up with more frees, how is this possible???
5. Brisbane are back in town, Matthews proves he is head and shoulders above the rest as a coach
6. Great saturday night viewing watching Collingwood get smashed
7. Yze is clearly one of the softest blokes going around
8. Essendon heading in Carltons direction, with all their good players on the way out. Surely they need to bite the bullet and get rid of sheeds, No longer a powerhouse.
9. Freo win 6 games for the year, might be only the 2nd time this has happened in their history, bwhahahahahah
10. Melb and Richmond to miss the 8, replaced by Port and St Kilda.

jsa

port believe their own hype. and they won't get a home final unless they luck their way into one vs the cows.

they are goooooorrrrnnnnnn.

brisvegas are my flag favourites. i wish i had a bit on them at 15/s 5 weeks ago...

Bennö (Bennö), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 02:06 (twenty years ago)

Not so sure benno, theres not too much to worry about in the final 8, thats why i reckon Brissy, Saints and Port can cause some havoc if all or any of them make it.

As for port playing Geelong & Kangaroos away will tell all.

The Saints have been written off too soon, beware them.

This season is still wide open. I reckon W.Coast, Adelaide, Saints, Demons, Port and the Swans can all still win it.

chrisso (chrisso), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 03:56 (twenty years ago)

Woops, forgot Brisbane. How could I forget them? 9 first year players this year and as good a chance as anyone. Amazing.

I was very pleased to hear Spida Everitts comments last night on WLF. Words to the effect he loves just watching Brisbane play, that there is no arrogance, just good players, playing well and winning and going off happy.

Good onya Spida - I knew you were a nice boy.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 07:27 (twenty years ago)

Really looking forward to the game on Saturday night, Lucy.

There has been some comment in the local media re Judd and some of the dubious tactics that he has to endure during the course of a match.

Lions, generally, do not stoop to such lows as Rawlings, Baker and Cornes (although Copeland can be a pest)and the fact that the good players win the ball on merit Vs Brisbane, should make this game a real spectacle.

Can't wait to see Black, Voss, Aker and Power go head to head with Cousins, Judd, Fletcher and Kerr. It should be a cracker. Bring it on!!

Westener (Westener), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 11:26 (twenty years ago)

jase, you really should get over it. He's gone.

If you are worried about soft cocks and wide receivers, have a really close look at Chad Cornes with a dispassionate eye.

He only takes a mark, stood by himself and is the master of letting his man run free. Completely and utterly unaccountable.

PAP will never win another flag with him at CHB!!

Westy, ever had the chance to watch braun, stenglein and the old monkey man do there tagging work?

jsa, Tuesday, 12 July 2005 21:48 (twenty years ago)

Poor old Juddy. The only midfielder in the AFL who gets tagged. More like the only midfielder in the AFL who gets half an hour to get rid of the pill.

regards,

REB

Yes it will be a wonderful contest Westy. You wont have to worry about Copeland he dislocated his elbow a couple of weeks back and is out for 6 - 8 weeks. What you will have to worry about is Troy Selwood fast becoming a very, very good tagger. Took on Haselby - won, Took on O'Bree (when he was firing) - won. That's just a couple he is the NAB Rising star for Round 15.

Be interesting to hear what you reaction is to young Daniel Merrett, he's only been playing Aussie Rules for 3 years prior to that he was a Rugby League boy.

I vaguely remember stating we may see a West Coast v Brisbane GF ages ago - maybe I was right!

Rob Walls called him the new A.Lynch. Wee bit premature I would have thought.

Did R. Walls give somebody some credit?? surely not

jsa, Friday, 15 July 2005 05:47 (twenty years ago)

Yes HSA, Not only gave him credit but it's a Brisbane player at that!

Agree though it is a touch premature and hopefully 'I'm Not Roger" will be more accurate at goal than Lynchy (whom I love but he could be frustrating some games)

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Friday, 15 July 2005 06:00 (twenty years ago)

lucy, from what ive heard of his commentary he loves the lions, like he was the reason for their success. Ive actually never heard him criticise one brisbane player.

jsa, Friday, 15 July 2005 06:23 (twenty years ago)

JSA Obviously we listen to different calls or maybe our ears our tuned differently!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Saturday, 16 July 2005 04:29 (twenty years ago)

When ive listened to the goose, he's a huge rapt for brissy, loves them, but your right we are all one-eyed when it comes to commentators
