I have deliberately refrained from talking up the Eagles so far this season but now I believe that they can go all the way this season.
It is a credit to Worsfold and his staff in the way that they are managing this team.
They will drop underperformers, rest injuries, make good moves from the bench and generally support players under the pump, usually with positive results. Example, how many times have I read on various forums, that Lynch is useless? Tonight he towelled possibly the best FB in the game. Woosha could have easily succumbed to the criticism from his detractors( and, I might add, supporters who know better than him) and moved Lynch onto Brown but he gave the job to Staker, who repaid in Spades and Lynch was decisive at the other end. MacDougall has played crap in the WAFL this season but, again, Woosha and staff recognised that he was ready and the Eagles did not lose by having Hansen out. Good move.
There is a lot to like about this team.

We were very, very slow to get moving but I thought the other three quarters were OK.
Ben Cousins was/is brilliant. I still think Gardiner is a thug (but that's another story). I was very pleased that Adcock kept Matera to 1 goal 2 behinds and considering JB was only just able to walk thought Merrett stood up pretty good. Very happy that Tim Notting finally go a few goals as well as running hard which he seems to do most weeks but then misses a lot of goals.
All in all considering it was 1 v 8 I reckon we did OK. However, I know this thread is not about my Lions but your Eagles and big credit to them and Woosha (whom I not so secretly fancy!)

Also, what abbout Jonathon Brown. How funny was it when Cousins was telling him to shut up and then flat out laughing at him in the middle while Brown was doing his try hard Carey impersonation. LMAO.

Chrisso I must admit that did look hilarious, the size of Browny next to Cousins, mouthing off and Cousins just laughing probably the only thing he could do.

You obviously haven't seen the incidents.

It's bloody embarrassing.
It's history! Use the two weeks to improve the fitness. Come back Vs the Bullies and build to the finals.
Play the game!!!!

Lucy, get angry, chuck something on the floor, punch something.
Don't forgive a pissweak effort to try and salvage some pride. It would have been better for Adcock to restrict Cousins to 1.2 and win the game than claim a nothing against Matera. Your guys never even had enough on the scoreboard to gain respectability.
The fact of the matter is that the Brisbane bully boys came to town and got bullied. When they tried the heavy stuff, they were laughed at and had more goals kicked against them.
If the Eagles had not relaxed in the last quarter, it might have been a huge embarrassment.
And to think that, at the start of the season, I tipped Brisbane's pride to win them this year's flag.
They are saved from ridicule only by the inept displays from PA.

We'll smash Brisbane this week.:-)

It would be hard to be too angry when your team has played in the last four Grand Finals and collected 3 Flags in those games, and is also blooding so many kids at the moment. I mean, Westy, how angry could you be?:-)

Adcock couldn't stop Cousins he was playing on Matera and that was his job which I believe he did very well. I don't particularly like Mater but he seems to pop from nowhere and kick goals so to restrict him is a good thing.
As Chrisso also points out 4 GF's in a row and 3 flags! However, Chrisso's boys will be another story this week if we lose to them I will be phisssed off.

No flag for you!

Over many seasons there has always been numerous opinions as to who is going to win the flag.
They are just that...opinions, until 5pm on GF Day.

St Kilda for me, REB. I think they're coming good at the right time. They've learnt from last year.
True.
