St Kilda v Geelong - This is a tight one to pick, i suspect that Geelong may bounce back, but im hoping the saints can finish 2nd and belt the crap out of Adelaide in the first final
Adelaide v Melbourne - By probably a record margin,
Bulldogs v West Coast - Bulldogs to win, and start the WC decline to a straight sets finals exit
Fremantle v Richmond - Richmonds last chance and they may be able to do it, but i think Softmantle will win and be on the verge of finals until round 22
Essendon v Sydney - Close one again, the biombers have improved once the pressure of finals was lifted, but Sydney with too much at stake.
Brisbane v Hawthorn - Brisbane are just going at the moment but should spank the Hawks
Carlton v Port Adelaide - Surely they can beat the Fitzroy of the AFL, if not i hope they belt the crap out of Nicky
Collingwood v Kangaroos - Kangaroos, will they ever give up in a game, jeez they shit me. Good to see the tribunal working well a 5 game penalty down to a 1 game penalty??? oh and fancy micky complaining about the umps, give us a spell micky you goose.

Bulldogs to win, and start the WC decline to a straight sets finals exit

Jase, why do you dislike us Sandgropers so much? What did we do to you?

I was in Adelaide for about 12 months in the late 60's. How old are you?

Westener (Westener), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 10:47 (twenty years ago)

Morning viewers,

a bit early for me to make my tips (as the world is obviously holding it's breath waiting for them NOT). I'm running second at work in the footy tipping and the game that will make me or break me is the Sydney vs Essendon game.

Susso, can you shed some light matey? If you get on the Swannies then I might follow suit. I'm leaning towards Sydney but I just don't trust them in Melbourne

CASE FOR TIPPING ESSENDON
Playing with a 'nothing to lose' attitude and freedom
A bit more pace about the Bombers lately, a weakness early on and last year
Running out games much better now than earlier
Good record at Telstra Dome
As Always, Lucas, Hird and Lloyd forward line
Swans coming off a road trip to AAMI

CASE FOR TIPPING SYDNEY
A better ruck division
Better midfield
A more even side that shares the workload
A top defence to counter the forward line mentioned above
Goodes, O'Loughlin and Hall
More to play for
Essendon's last two improved performances against higher ranked clubs were against teams that are not in as good form as the Swans

Sometimes the way to go is to follow the bookies who have more to lose than me and they have Sydney a reasonably clear favourite but I reckon Essendon in Melbourne (especially at the dome) is a good thing.

Aw crap!! The PRESSURE!! So come on Susso, you were right about the Catters, maybe you can ease this tortured Cat soul and give us a handy call on this one cos I've got NFI (He finally admits it LOL).

Cheers,

REB

St Kilda v Geelong - Saints, Cats are goorn... Where has the team spirit gone?
Adelaide v Melbourne - Adelaide by 2 goals after blowing a 8 goal lead.
Bulldogs v West Coast - West Coast to click into gear, and win by heaps, especially if Hansen is selected at CHF
Fremantle v Richmond - Heave Ho, Way to go, Richmond lost to f**king Carlton for f**ks sake.
Essendon v Sydney - I hate the swans. but i hate the dons more. swans by a goal in a dour struggle...
Brisbane v Hawthorn - Brisvegas by 10 goals.
Carlton v Port Adelaide - Crikey. Nil all draw anyone? Jase, did I mention how disappointing the Power were in the second half last weekend? Worst 1/2 performance ever.
Collingwood v Kangaroos - Roos. Watching last weekends match made me a shinboner for the day. The second half was awesome. And Collingwood suck big dogs balls right now.

Bennö (Bennö), Thursday, 4 August 2005 06:09 (twenty years ago)

REB, Sydney had a really hard game against Adelaide last weekend, that on top of travel two weeks in a row could be enough to give Essendon who are playing "with gay abandon" just enough of an edge to win - especially at Telstra Dome.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Thursday, 4 August 2005 07:05 (twenty years ago)

ST KILDA (47) - Geelong are where the saints were six weeks ago

ADELAIDE - Melbourne will put in a better effort but their season is over

WEST COAST - Dogs will stay with them on enthusiasm and confidence for maybe two and a half quarters

FREO - don't tell me Richmond are whinging about that 'end their season' comment from Lance last week. The mob that had 'put Carlton out of the finals' on their banner for their idiot fans to cackle at in 97, then had the siren from that game on their switchboard answering machine all summer, would take that in stride, surely??????

SYDNEY - usually do the biz OK v Dons (alternative nickname to Bombers, until some dickhead from the Crime Victims League has a bitch about the name glorifying the Mafia)

BRISBANE - but not by 10 goals. Last week may have knocked a lot of wind out of their sails

CARLTON - word is Jase's Obsession is being groomed to take over from Kouta next year. I imagine the discuasion went something like this:

The Uncle (the bloke pushing JO): He's the only other bloke in our leadership squad with a secure spot in the side.

The rest of the match committee: Errr, dunno, he hasn't been here that long, it'll put a lot of noses out of joint, err, ummm....

Uncle: Besides that, just think about how much it would annoy Jase and the rest of the moaning Cleti....

Others: Sold! Stevens it is!

ROOS - Collingwood are back in 1999, Buckley carrying the lot of 'em

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 4 August 2005 08:56 (twenty years ago)

Saints-68 points
Eagles
Crows
Bummers
Dockers
Lions
Blues
Roos

Westener (Westener), Thursday, 4 August 2005 11:57 (twenty years ago)

St Kilda by 61: Not enough big Cats and back up forwards underdone
West Coast: To end the Doggie's mini surge
Adelaide: Easily. Melbourne in more trouble than Geelong or Richmond
Swans: Finally made up my mind but not a lot of confidence in this tip
Freo: Tigers reserves won't enjoy the road trip
Brisbane: By about five goals I reckon
Port: It will take a better side than the Blues to end the defence
Kangaroos: Pies are in the poo as well.

regards,

REB

Just winding ya up westy, bit like you sledging the power.

Im just a little suspect about the finals record of the eagles and not yet convinced that they have what it takes. But time will tell, it should make for an interesting finals series, trust me if you play the crows in the grand final you will have my full support.

And born 1968.
