"You don't hear too many complaints from the interstate sides who have to travel two weeks in a row so you won't hear any complaints from us either."
Quick!!!! Eddie, Mick, Terry, talk to the boy, get him enrolled in Victorian Football Whinge 101 at La Trobe Uni, Christ almighty what's got into him. Some bastard at least give him the bloody script!!!! Alister, son, just remember three key words, heat, travel, salary-cap when playing games in Brisbane, especially in the daylight. And only talk about Brisbane players where you can insert the word "former" like "former Collingwood player...." or "former Bendigo boy ......." or even better "former Fitzroy player...."
Get the drill - its not blooyd astrophysics, bloody Dermie and Gary can do it so how hard can it be!!! For Christ's sake its been SOP for five years, just remember who we are trying to convince here, the Victorian footballing public, you hammer the same line and don't admit anything.
Still the boys got some promise, he did say "interstate", shows potential to work with at the moment.
I feel better now, resume your seats.

Thank God it was only Hawthorn othewise I think the Lions may have been in trouble REB.
Like my close relative the whale, its good to vent every now and then.
The problem was that I came home from the "ttoir and watched the tape on the vid, mistake!! You see, I didn't "see" the same game as DB and Dwayne, and because I have not played "footy at the highest level" I can't see how you can win by 7 goals and lack pace, silly bugger me. Lucky Ch 9 pays these boys so much money to set me straight.

When did Paynful Dwayne play 'footy at the highest level'? As I recall his career he was one of the last of those big fish from the SANFL pond, who made more headlines with the 'will-he-won't-he' stuff on the way over than with anything he did once he arrived. He was around when Geelong had a few fair sides but he was always back in the seconds come finals time.

Love ya work BB. Haven't had a chance to watch the tape yet. But while everyone says it wasn't pretty to watch I'm happy we won. And won after losing Drummond early, no Leppitsch, Aker out for more than a quarter (and still one of the best), no Johnny Brown and debutante - young Travis did well.
I absolutely hate the Channel 9 commentary - sorry using the words Channel 9 and commentary in the one sentence = oxymoron.
I've also noticed at the game the breaks are longer and we tend to wait for the commercial light to flash for much longer.

Lions Supporters all!!!
I saw, perhaps, one quarter of the game, came in midway through the 3rd Q and immediately asked if Brown was playing.
It was very evident to me that the Lions were suffering from a lack of a CHF. The fact that they were going wide and kicking across the ground in the midfield was very much evidence that Brown is being missed.
Unfortunately, the Eagles are having the same problem without Hansen.
