That's how much longer the Cats had to hold out for to get into the Preliminary Final...two bloody seconds FFS. I taped the game on Friday night (ironically over the top of 'Heartbreak Ridge') but it will be years before I'll be able to bring myself to watch it.

Three reasons for the loss in my view..injuries (yeah I know, get the excuse book out), an overly defensive mindset in the last quarter (playing keepings off with 8 minutes to go) and worst of all, our weaknesss regarding covering the small forwards. Davis was sensational and is in arguably in career best form but even Didud kicked 4 against us FFS. We need to get someone into the side who is a better match up against this type of player because it has cost us badly in the last two seasons.

Well done Sydney and I hope you can go all the way but I think St Kilda would have to do a Geelong from here to miss out on the flag.

Yours in mourning,

REB

Sounds like the story of Geelong's existence, if.. but...

St Kilda are gone - they will take in too many blokes with injury clouds, and find that they are not up to the pace of a final, especially against the physical scrapping Swans.

And surely Hall and Goodes can't have 3 shockers each in a row???

REB I watched the game and it was definitely not good entertainment - lots of grovelling in the dirt. It thought your CATS had it sewn up until that final 10 minutes. As I said in the other post, problem is not the players but the coach. I think it's time they looked at someone else ( Not Matthews he's busy!)

While I was happy to see Sydney win and for the final 10 to be so exciting I felt for the CATS they had performed very well. Just hope they can keep their side together and give it another crack.

Yeah, crap game that was saved by the epic finish.

but it will be years before I'll be able to bring myself to watch it.

Join the heartbreak at the SCG club. I still wake up in a cold sweat over the 1996 prelim.

Ah Chrisso, but you have some premiership glory to warm your heart, alas us Catters do not..unless we are as old as Bobby Davis! DAVIS!! AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!
