I like Gary Lyon as an expert commentator, he really does provide some great insight at times.

Yeah but look at the 'competition' Dermott Brereton, Stephen Silvangi, Malcolm Blight....FFS. Finally after 24 weeks, we agree on something Chrisso :)

Does he hate Essendon as much as he does Geelong? In one recent article he mentioned a Melbourne cabbie wouldn't let him in his cab 'He must of been a Geelong or Essendon supporter' said the 'great' Robert KnoWalls.

I reckon the award should have gone to the cabbie!

Don't like any expert comments people because despite their undoubted football ability, they all tend to point out the bleeding obvious..can't stand Lyon either..so fargen smug..which is easy to be when your only coaching gig is in the non event international crap.

I reckon Wayne Carey is probably the best of a very poor lot.

He amost barracks for the other team when he commentates on our matches. He and Sheedy also loathe each other.

I live in rural WA and am fortunate to have a lot of the games I watch live. Since I cannot handle Eddie on Friday and most of the d--kheads on Ch10 any other day, I turn off the sound and listen to the ABC Radio commentary.

I have got to like listening to comments from Mark Maclure and Stan Alves with insights from David Parkin.

Brereton sounds great on the TV with Drew Morhphett's voice but I reckon he could do better with the lip sync work.

I'm in the exact same position as Westy, live in regional WA so the ABC radio is the best. The worst commentary team is Tim Sausage and Matthew Campbell with Peter Wilson on Ten (Fox) and that d..khead Lauchy Reid on the boundary.

I do enjoy the Sunday Channel 9 commentary of Gary Lyon, Brian Taylor and James Bradshaw, but Dennis Cometti is still the best.
