Not a real bad sign for the cricket team either.

I presume we are talking about the Australian side here? No doubt they are making room for another NSW player!!

Yeah the current team is full of them Chimp Chick LOL. And wouldn't it be silly to pick more players from the team that won the domestic championship last season? Sheer lunacy.

Your comment is about two years out of date at least. Like Dean Jones before him, Marto has found new ways to get out and deserved to be dropped.

How the hell does hayden survive??? he's lost everything and all that is left is slogging or boring bogged-down selfish batting ala the last test.

Jase, I think the answer is 'just', and unless he pulls his finger out not for a whole lot longer. A few blokes have just copped some Test-class bowling for the first time in a squillion years and it didn't half show.

Hayden has been dropped from the one day side. It is a shame for Marto because he wasn't alone during the Ashes.

It's yet another of those situations where everybody wants somebody to get dropped but it has to be somebody from some other state.

If the selectors drop one bloke, they're scapegoat-hunting. If they dump three, they're panicking. They leave the side intact, they're either complacent or don't like admitting they're wrong.

Never been the biggest Marto fan but I reckon he's been a little bit hard done by here. Having said that his lax running at Edgbaston, poor fielding and generally unconvincing play did him no favours. Even with the two lbws where he was dudded he'd feathered one through to the 'keeper without being given out beforehand.

Disagree ojit. No concentration and some soft dismissals that would have made Mark Waugh blush. Hayden copped plenty and rightfully so but at least he put his head down and played a substantial innings, even if it was too late. Katich is another who probably should be under the gun before Marto but at least the Kat played a couple of half decent knocks.
