"To assist coach Connolly"

LMAO. Why TF would he do that? Connolly is gone.

Tend to agree REB, Harvey will probably assist for the first few rounds until he has the confidence of the players and knows how to get from the Airport to Freo!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Tuesday, 15 November 2005 02:11 (twenty years ago)

Obviously he found his way from the Airport.

Well Mark here are Lucy's tips for survival in Freo....while the Fish and Chips are good at Kailis Bros they are also expensive now. Roma's wasn't a bad restaurant for good Italian food, The Fly By Night club was good for local bands, the Maritime Museum is fascinating and there is at least one pub every block. Good luck you will need it!

Now, if we can just get a coach for St Kilda !!!!

Big Bird (Big Bird), Sunday, 20 November 2005 05:03 (twenty years ago)

And they beat the Bears by what...15 goals when they last played you? Imagine how many they might have beaten you by if they actually had a coach.

See you in Round One at Cat park but don't expect a warm welcome because we owe you blokes heaps.

REB

McKenna, Waterman, Sumich, Worsfold, Laidley, Pyke, Thompson, Harvey, O'Donnell and a host of others I cannot remember.

How low would the coaching stocks be without Essendon and West Coast?

Westener (Westener), Monday, 21 November 2005 00:25 (twenty years ago)

Second beating 11th by a street, at home, and last home & away game for the year is a no-brainer REB. Going on from there to loose two finals with the best list in the competition, now that takes something special.

Time to shit or get of the pot Saints!!!! Last year for G-frame, Harvey and Hamill, and maybe throw in some back ended contracts, will see the list change a great deal for Twenty 0h seven. They should have had one of the last three flags!!!

And speaking of when teams last played, aren't Geelong the famous "10" team. Sure showed us sun-lovin' Queenslanders how to play in the wet that day.

Big Bird (Big Bird), Monday, 21 November 2005 05:42 (twenty years ago)

See you in Round One at Cat park but don't expect a warm welcome because we owe you blokes heaps.

No it's OK REB no need to buy us all drinks, we accept that we are better than you - it's not a problem. ! lol

Ha ha good comeback bird. Lucy, check your calendar : )

Thanks REB, my calendar informs me today is the 24 day of November in the year 2005. It also tells me Christmas is not too far away and that the footy starts February 24 and that the Lions are heading up the Kokoda Trail leaving this weekend.

My calendar is very informative!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Thursday, 24 November 2005 07:00 (nineteen years ago)

Get another calendar Lucy. As far as I can tell footy starts March 30 or thereabouts.

Brisbane Lions v Essendon Bombers - Carrara 24th February NAB Cup.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Friday, 25 November 2005 07:05 (nineteen years ago)

By that standard LL, Christmas started sometime around Melbourne Cup time, which was when I first noticed the cheap deco's and heard Jingle Bell Rock in my local Safeways.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Friday, 25 November 2005 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

No Fred Chrissie deco's went up the week after Easter - it's called maximising advertising time or some such crap!

Whether you enjoy the Snatch 'n' Grab cup or not at least it's better than nothing.

You'll always get these rediculous arguments with daylight saving.

Can't hang about, gotta close the curtains.

Westener (Westener), Friday, 25 November 2005 12:50 (nineteen years ago)

That's what you get for living in another country Westy.

regards,

REB

PS - Gorillagirl. So you're calendar DOES say 2005 and not 2004 then. LOL.

West Of The Wall: Toni Fisher, and the Wayne Shanklin Orchestra [1962]

West of the wall, I'll wait for you
West of the wall, our dreams can all come true
Though we're apart, a little while
My heart will wait until we both can smile

That wall built of our sorrow
We know must have an end
‘Til then, dream of tomorrow
When we meet again

West of the wall, where hearts are free
West of the wall, your heart can come to me
And in my arms, that hold you tight
You will forget the darkness of the night

The world knows of our sadness
And we are not alone
West of the wall, that soon will fall
And you come ho-o-o-o-ome

Wall, built up on sorrow, one day you will end
Hearts true to each other will not break, they will not bend
In our hour of sadness how clearly we can see
Tomorrow's gladness, free, free, free, free, free, free

West of the wall, where hearts are free
West of the wall, your heart can come to me
And in my arms, that hold you tight
You will forget the darkness of the night

The world knows of our sadness
And we are not alone
West of the wall, that soon will fall
And you come ho-o-o-o-ome
The curse of the wall!

Hey I resemble that remark - are you implying I live in the past!!!! :)

Fiesty bunch for off season...

I have no idea who even contested the final of the Harry Potter Cup last year.

But I remember the Lie-ins beat up on young Nicky in Round 1.

Footy starts at the end of March. The rest is glorified training sessions.

"I have no idea who even contested the final of the Harry Potter Cup last year."

Even I had to think about that one for a moment.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 1 December 2005 01:59 (nineteen years ago)

Wasn't it Carlton and Adelaide? I remember Carlton won - only thing they have won!

Sorry Fred
