Hello,
I will be flying into Brisbane for a conference in Surfer's Paradise, June 22-24. Could anyone tell me what to do in Brisbane before the conference, and will I be able to catch a 11 AM flight from Brisbane if I stay in the conference hotel in Surfer's Paradise the night before? I think the drive is only an hour, but I'm not sure about the public transportation options, or maybe there is some other kind of transportation.

yeah totes. there will be some kind of shuttle bus situation running from Surfers to Brisvagueass, ask the hotel now what times they go from where.

we went to a bar, then we went back to someone's flat, then they started doing coke and they didn't offer us any, then we left, then the next day we went to a manmade beach in the city (??), then we went on a boat ride up the river, and saw lots of bats, then i can't remember what else we did, then we left.

ugh, beach is at south bank. South bank def worth checking out if only for GoMA, the Ron Mueck will still be on iirc.
I guess head to the valley for drinkings (there will be loads of drunk shit heads around on a sat nite tho)
some bars of note: l4ruch3 (owned by gf's cousin, rly awesomely fitted out), 0rtiga, bowery, r1cs (terrible, indie, bar).
The Powerhouse at New Farm is pretty cool.
btw surfers paradise is so horrible. I'm pretty into the gold coast hinterland tho, natch bridge,canungra etc.
