I would like to wish all the regular forummers(?) the very best for the festive season and much luck for the new year.

I hope your teams all win the games that count with the exception of the ones against the Eagles.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Westener (Westener), Thursday, 22 December 2005 10:57 (twenty years ago)

All best wishes to you also Westy and REB and Fred and Chrisso and Big Bird and even JSA - hope I've not missed any of you but if I have it is purely unintentional.

If you don't celebrate Christmas then enough the holiday season, eat well, drink well and play hard but safe.

PS> I checked out my Lions at training the other night - looking good!

what? People talk about Footy in January? We haven't finished the one-dayers yet... the speedway season is in full swing. Talk to me when the ansett/harry potter cup comes to the new imporved 5degrees hotter Canberra in whenever...

LOL@Benno. Watching go karts going around in circles and that baseball game that funds the real cricket. We talk footy all year round because we don't barrack for Collingwood heh heh.

Best wishes and all that to all..except that Port mongrel JSA ha ha.

regards,

REB

I think JSA must still be at the ground waiting for the final siren - hoping that 2005 was just a horrible dream! Know how he feels on that score! lol

Its January REB - its too hot to think about footy... its beer, and cricket, and summer sports (like beach volleyball)

Collingwood are going to have a better year than my other love, the Canberra Raiders :(

Come on Benno, who would have thought that the Tiggers would have saluted this time last year? Nah, your right, you're screwed.

Benno I went to a game of Twenty20 last night at the Gabba - Aus v SA. Cricket was interesting to watch - great display by Martyn and Symonds. but the whole things was so American Basketball - hated it. Constant loud music but no more than 30sec of each song - talk about confusing. Idle chatter from two side liners one female one male both as bad as each other an totally useless. Hard sell American voice overs and a crowd that was so hyped up they couldn't be controlled. At one point the good ole mexican wave was accompanied by the hurling of bottles, cups and anything else they could get their hands on. Rubbish being thrown onto the ground etc.

First and last for me - next time I'll watch on TV and not have to put up with the tools.

LL, was that you with the Lions jumper and the green and gold wig?

Saw you over here in the West just before 'Marto' was out. Wow!!!

20/20 is crap end of story. I didn't even watch it on TV. If it aint tests it aint cricket. Judging by the attendance there is a place for it in the cricketing calendar, but it's just not for me. Cricket will always be the battle between bat and ball and not commentator 1 vs commentator 2 vs a sound byte.

No Westy not guilty! Shouldn't you be battening down the hatches and squirrelling food before the next cyclone hits?

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 07:22 (twenty years ago)

20/20 - the KFC sponsorship is appropriate. Fills a void occasionally, have it too often you will be sick of it and swear off it for the rest of your life...

LL - cups thrown in the air is a standard Mexican Wave feature. Be glad it was only a 20/20 game, and not a full one dayer, where occasionally the cups thrown into the air are full of beer that has passed through a drunken yoboo earlier that day...
