Because I'm trying to avoid AFL as much as possible this year (unless they force everyone to bring out the crazy clash jumpers and/or Carlton don't pick up another Wooden Spoon, in the most unlikely outcome ever), here's the "minor leagues". According to AFL folklore, anyway. Just because the AFL tells you that the SANFL was never worth a crap, when it was all the way to 1991.

SANFL

Central Districts to win again. South Adelaide to break my heart again.

VFL

Dunno. Is Bendigo vs Port Melbourne realistic for the Grand Final? I hope it is, it's probably the only VFL game I'd watch apart from when Carlton sends their crazy fuckups down to the reserves.

WAFL

Does the WAFL still exist?

Hey Esteban what about the AFLQ - fairs fair!

AFLQ has got a team called the Vultures? OK then, they can be ranked as a second tier league too.

REB's SANFL Preview
++++++++++++++++++++

Last year's top four teams have recruited well and look to be a fair way ahead of the rest of the field and should again fill the topl four positions on the ladder.

Sturt look the most vulnerable side from last year's top five and look to be again relying on the old guard, a group that has been providing the double blues with diminishing returns last season.

Norwood are slowly recovering but has lost Robbie Neil to retirement and that is a huge loss to the Legs that is only partially covered by the recruitement of Glenelg's Heath Culpitt.

REB's Crystal Balls (Gotta make sure they don't clink together)

1. Centrals
2. Port
3. North
4. Eagles
5. Norwood

6. Sturt
7. South
8. West
9. Glenelg

regards,

REB
