....is woefully inadequate.

Instead of filling up most of a page with lists of names and numbers of blokes who are playing, the papers would save space and tell fans what they most need to know by listing the players NOT playing.

That way, on Monday we can all look arrogant or unconcerned (depending on the result) and tell everyone prepared to listen (or too slow to get out of range) that 'overall that was a pretty good effort considering we were missing Smith, Brown, Jones, Cazaly, Jesaulenko, Blenkinsop, McGillicuddy, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.'

It is absolutely impossible to be enthused about this stupid pre-season cup. Carlton won it last year FFS.

So far Geelong have beaten two teams that share their colors and another who generously agreed to do the same.

Is it that Geelong can only win when they think they are playing themselves? (Get used to it Erik, as a Geelong fan in Addledville over the next couple of weeks you're gonna have to I fear.)

Sorry Frederick. You haven't been following current events but as a Carlton fan that is understandable. I have lived in Qld now for nearly 18 months.

Since then the Cats haven't lost to Port or Adelaide but the colour change idea is one worth following up with the Adelaide Football Corporation...

REB you are now no doubt touched by the Sun like we all are after being here more than a minute - hopefully enjoying yourself.

If only we could see more footy. How I long for 2007 to see if the coverage gets better. Ah well until then I'll just have to travel to the Gold Coast again, hopefully to see my boys get another win before the H&W starts. :)

Yes, unfortunately the coverage of the sunscreen is greater than that of the football. I used to regularly stay up late but getting a bit long in the tooth to be waiting all night for the bloody footy to start.

I was pleased as punch when Eddie lost the rights because Rugby League is a poor substitute for the best sport in the world.
