Early tips cos I'm not available later in the week.

Saints - too good for Lions at the Lounge - 7 points
Cats - another percentage boost
Swannies - to break the ice
Eagles - Tiges no hope
Crows - Dees to sit with Tigers as only teams without a win
Doggies - too young and too good for the Gliders
Poower - Dockers have lost the plot
Pies - to continue their climb to 6 wins for the season.

Could be a Docker upset if Brogan doesn't play Westy...

REB

Brisbane - because we need to prove we can play like we did Saturday away from the Gabba - oh yeah and for Round 22 2005!
Geelong
Sydney
West Coast
Melbourne in an upset!
Fremantle
Kangaroos

St Kilda. Brisbane no chance on a five day break at the Dome.
Geelong. Scarlo a big loss however so not a walkover.
Sydney. Blues have improved but Swannies have been under the pump this week and should respond.
West Coast. Tiges untippable out West.
Adelaide. Hope Chimp Chick is right tho.
Port. Freo win at Footy Park? Not likely.
Bulldogs. Should outrun the Gliders.
Collingwood. Usually match up well on the Roos and unlucky not to beat them twice last year.

Australia...only if Punter survives the first half hour Chrisso (we've only really got three batsmen now and two of them are out already).

regards,

REB

Agree about the Kiddie and Haydos, but don't forget that Gilly did get a ton in the first innings.

chrisso (chrisso), Thursday, 13 April 2006 02:25 (nineteen years ago)

That should say that I agree about the Kiddie and MARTO.

chrisso (chrisso), Thursday, 13 April 2006 02:27 (nineteen years ago)

Yep. See your point about Gilly but he has become a first rate nicker of late and his last innings has sadly been the exception rather than the rule it once was.

Let's see if I can get any worse this week.

Saints (22) - I don't like the Lions' chances down south.
Geelong - Quiet week for Jeffery.
Carlton - This might not be a totally reckless tip...
Weagles - Yeah, like the Tigers have a chance.
Adelaide - Demons to be blinded by the Crows' red alt. jumper.
Bulldogs - If Footscray get over the Same Olds, it will be the best Easter ever.
Bogans - The Wharfies have no chance at Footy Park.
Kangaroos - Nathan Buckley won't tell the difference between the jumpers.

Careful Butty. Port Adelaide are also known as the Wharfies...

I've never seen any Wharfies around Alberton, REB...

Yeah but you Panthers fans don't get out much!

Not true! I've been known to hide in the kids playground at Unley Oval.

St Kilda. Brisbane no chance on a five day break at the Dome.

Again REB I should have listened. Considering all things I'm not too unhappy though, after a hard game against the Bombers and more travel especially on a five day break......

Mills did OK on young Nick in the second half, who said Vossy was gorn. Even only with half of what you had he's still brilliant, Charman gets better and better every game and Leppa may only play 10 games this year (I'm sure I predicted that somewhere!!!) but he's still great.

A few days rest then bring on bl**dy Maffew Richardson - love to watch his tantrums - especially when they are losing!!!

Easter greetings to you all - and chocolate by the bucket load.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Friday, 14 April 2006 06:35 (nineteen years ago)

ST KILDA (37) - but Harvey won't see out the game and Gehrig won't be too healthy either

GEELONG - Hawks not quite in same league yet

SYDNEY - yes it is Esty. Not only are Carlton up against a flag team with the vulturees circling, but they'll have the additional burden of me being in the crowd for the first time since the Farewell game

EAGLES - the PFJ had their good game last week. Aaron Hamill personally removed their best hope of exploiting any Eagle weakness

ADELAIDE - Melbourne are in doggy-doodoo deep and getting deeper

BULLDOGS - I have forebodings about this one but they're most likely just force of habit

PAP - Freo still massively unconvincing, especially in their Hello sailor get-up

COLLINGWOOD - might have their six wins up before the ski season starts if the Man Mountain can stay on the park

It's time to accept the fact that they are no longer good enough Lucy. Too old, too slow and on the slippery slope. Time to batten down the hatches and prepare for a few lean years.

chrisso (chrisso), Saturday, 15 April 2006 01:58 (nineteen years ago)

Agree totally Chrisso. As Garry Lyon said about half way through the third quarter, the Roman Empire has fallen.

An appropriate analogy. I've always thought there was a big touch of Epic Theatre about the Brisbane side. Especially Aker and Justin Leppisch.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Saturday, 15 April 2006 03:56 (nineteen years ago)

Oh boys boys, I have been saying for quite some time we are no longer the Brisbane Lions of 2001 - 2002 -2003 and 2004. Happy to see the team rebuild just wish everyone would stop comparing the younguns to the hugely successful time of 01-02-03-04. I don't agree they are no longer good enough, but they are a different side I still think we will win a few this season and after blooding ... what 11 new players. I'm happy enough.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Saturday, 15 April 2006 06:44 (nineteen years ago)

It seems the Cats are no longer the side of Rounds 1 and 2 ;). Well done to the Hawks, a real bogey side for us!

regards,

REB
