The draft picks we missed out on were Brendan Goddard and Daniel Wells. Both look like being pretty good players (Wells maybe better than 'pretty good') but not exactly Judd and Hodge just yet and maybe not ever. In the last month and a half of last year Carlton threw all their talent up front and beat Collingwood and Richmond (both of whom we've already lost to this year), pushed Port to 14 points, and kicked centuries in those matches and two of our other losses. At least the scoreboard was ticking over and we were playing with some enthusiasm, and all the players whose names have come up in this thread, plus a heap of others, were showing good signs. Where has all that gone?

Pagan has 18 months left on his contract. By the time he clears off his departure will be as welcome as Elliott's was.
